CAUTION: • Do no t place a ny foreign ob jects in the disc tray, and do not pl ace more than one disc in the disc tray at a time. Doing so m ay result in malfunc tion. • Do not pus h the dis c tray in manu ally whe n the po wer is of f, as this may res ult in m alfunct ion and damage the playe r.

(2) Starti n g Playback (3) Sto ppin g Playback Sleep mod e The sleep mode is set if no operation is performed for 30 min- utes in the standby, pause or manua l search mode. When in the sleep mode, press the PLAY/PAUSE but ton to search for the position before the sleep mode was set and start playback.
HANDY OP ERATIONS (1) Star tin g Play back fr om the M iddle of a Trac k (Manu al Search ) • When a track is selected an d the PLAY/PAUSE button is presse d, playback starts fr om the begi nning o f that track. To start from a different position in the tra ck, use the pr ocedure descri bed belo w to find the desired position.
16 NOTE: The following h appens if ei ther the A or B point is n ot set: • If only the A poin t is set, the B point i s automatically set at the end of the track for w hich the A point is se t. • If only the B point i s set, the A point is auto matically set at the beginning of the track fo r which the B poin t is set.

(6) Divi din g the Playin g Time in Tw o (Auto Edit) • Use this function to divide the total playing time of the disc into side A ( first half ) and side B ( second half ) .
19 PROGRAMMED PLAYBAC K • The tracks can be progr ammed to play in a cert ain order. • Up to 25 tr acks can be programme d. • Programme d playback is pe rformed according to the play mode (single or continuou s) and finish mode (sto p, next o r recue) setting s.

21 (4) Presetting Prog rams • Progra ms can be store d in th e prese t memo ry. Whe n a disc for w hich a program is pre set is l oaded, the pro gramme d playback mo de is set automatically.
• Functions can be preset using th e bu ttons on the front panel. T hese presettings a re stored in a permanent memory, so th ey are n ot cleared even when the power is turned off.

26 BEFORE SWITCH ING OFF THE P OWER When you have finished using the CD player, before s witching off the power be sure that the disc holder has been closed with th e OPEN/CL OSE button. CAUTION: Do not forcibly close the disc holder when the power is off.
