10 Getting started 2.1 Installing the wrist strap ● Put one end of the wrist s trap through the m oun t. ● Put the other end of the wrist strap throug h the fir st end. ● Tighten. 2.2 Loading the Batteries ● Be sure that the cam era is in the “o ff” position.
11 ● Closing the battery cover Note: Do not apply exce ssive force on the ba ttery cover as it may cause damage. ※ When using your digital came ra, if the ba ttery charge is one mark on the battery level icon, you will not be able to continue operati ng the flash.
12 Note: Before using, p l ease insert y our SD memory card into the m emory card slot on bottom of the c amera. If the d is full or contains other data, y ou can access Format in “ Set the up mode” car using the Mode Selector button to form at your ● to be the prim ary storage m edia.
13 ● Slide the power cover on the top of the camera sideways to star t- up, Switch the power on and off. When the camera is switched on, the red indicator light will flash, an image will a p pear on the LCD display . ※ This camera com es with three power saving op tions: Off, 1 minute, 3 minutes.
14 2.6 Befor e you start Before you use y our camera, there are som e b asic settings to conf igure. These settings will be illu strated in chapters th at follow . 2.6.1 Setting the date and time 1. Please swi tc h on the camera as shown in 2. 4 “T urning on for the first t ime”.

17 Using the camera Please read this section to lear n how to use the camera. 3.1 Using the Shutter button All of the buttons are found on the top or back of th e camera.

20 3.3.1 Changing the LCD display You may decide not to dis play icons on the L CD screen by foll owing the instructi ons below. 1. Ensure that you are either in Photo mode or Video mode. If yo u are in neither, please select eith er mode from the modes Main menu .

22 Icon Description Flash is disabl ed. Automatic flash , which will b e activated only when necessa ry, for example for the use of flash in dim places and when no f lash is used in bright plac es. Forced flash, w h ich will be activated under any circum stance.
23 3.5 Video Mode Use Video mode to captur e v ideo clips and store them in the internal mem ory or on an SD card. icon indicates Video mod e. 3.5.1 Icons in V ideo mode Use the follow ing diagram to familiarize yourself w ith the Video mode ic ons and symbols.

Switch on the camera and m ake sure that it is in the Play back mode.
26 3.6.3 Using thumbnails mode In Playback mode, pe r factory settings, ca mera display s images to fit LCD. But i t is also possible to di splay nine thumbnails on the LCD. To view thum bnails: 1. Switch on the camera and e n s ure that it is in th e Play bac k mode.

29 The icons and nam es of the games are as follows: Boxboy Tetris M e m o r y G o B a n g The descriptions on how to play each ga m e are as follows: Boxboy ● When the gam e begins, pleas e turn your cam era 90 o clockwise and hold it this way to play the gam e.
30 ● Press Shutter to exit the game and return to th e game menu. Tetris ● When the game begins, pl ease turn your camera 90 o clockwise and hold it th is way to play the game. ● Use the Up/Down Arrow button to move the blocks h ori zonta l ly ; hold the button to make t he blocks move faster.
31 up. Press the OK /Fu nction button to reveal the picture you have selected; if the next pict ure you choose i s the same as the f irst one, then the pair of pictures w il l be eliminated.
32 Using the setup menus Read this sect ion to learn how to configure the cam era and use the advanced features. 4.1 Camera menu The Camera menu appears when the camera is in Phot o mode and the Mode selector button is p ressed. The Camera menu is only available in Photo mode.
33 To set pict ure quality: 1. Turn the camera on and ens ure that it is in Photo mode. 2. Press the Mode selector button. 3. Use the Down shift selector button to navigate until the Quality option is highlight ed. 4. Use the Up shift selector button to select : F i n e , N o r m a l .
34 3. Use the Down shift selector button to navigate until the Self-timer option is highlighted . 4. Use the Up shift selector button to select : O N , O F F . 5. Press the Mode selector button to confirm and exit the menu. 4.1.5 EV Use the exposu re compensa tion (EV) setting to ch ang e the expo sure fo r your pi ctur es.
35 4.1.6 Date Display Use the time functio n to contro l turning the date/ time stamping on or off when takin g a picture. T o set date di s play: 1. Turn the camera on and ens ure that it is in Photo mode. 2. Press the Mode selector button. 3. Use the Down shift selector button to navigate until the Time di splay option is highli ghted.
36 4.2.2 V ideo quality Use video qu ality optio n to set the q ua lity of the video capture d . This ca m era has two quality op ti ons: Fine and N ormal. Vide os taken with the Fine opti on will require significantly more memory space than those taken with th e Norm al option.
37 4.2.4 EV Use the exposu re compensation (EV) setting to change the expo sure for your videos. Usually this value wou ld be set to zero, but you might want to increase th e exposure to brighten a scen e with strong back lighting, or decreas e the exposure if shooting a video in a very bright envi ronment.
38 4.3.1 Delete one Use the Delete one function to delet e files. To delete fi le : 1. Turn the camera on and ens ure that it is in Playback m ode. 2. Press the Set/ Fu nctio n button. 3. Use the Up shift selector button to navig ate until the Delete option is highlighted .

When all images to be pr i n ted are ta gged, remove the memory card and take it to a n image studio for prin ting, or use it with a D P O F compatible printer.

Use the Down shift selector button to select and set: pr int all, select singl e print, date stam p vi sible or invisible, sele ct print all, press Set/ Funct ion button to access menu, use Up/ D own shift selector button confirm or cancel. Afterwards, press Set/ Function button to start print ing or cancel.
41 ※ Note: the in ternal Flash m emory’ s copy is only com pati ble with DC F docume nts. ※ If the external card has a DCIM pare nt directory and a 100 FSCAM child directory , the document s will be duplicated onto th e 100FSCAM directory .
42 1. Turn the camera on and ens ure that it is in Setup m ode. 2. Use the Up shift selector button to select option and use the Down shift selector button to select auto-power off. 3. Press Set/ Function button to access the menu, press th e Up/ Down shift s elector button to select th ree minutes, one minute, set to on or off.
43 5. Press Mode selector button to exit. 4.4.7 Frequency The setting of fre quency will prevent the o ccurrence of flashing due to t he l ocal frequency rate. For detailed informatio n, please contac t y our local energy provider. 1. Turn the camera on and ens ure that it is in Setup m ode.
44 3. Press Set/ Function button to access the menu, press th e Up/ Down shift s elector button to sel ect or cancel. 4. Press Set/ Function button to con firm.
45 Installin g software and drivers 5.1 Drivers When the camera is c onnec te d to the PC, the camera can be used as either a Mass Storage or a com puter-based video cam era. Mass storage The digital camera o ffers Mass Storage functio n as a c ard reader device.
46 Install button 3. Click the install butt on to instal l the driver. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions. 5. Click Finish to restart the comput er an d the camera driver installation is completed. Installing the dri ver 1. Insert the supplied CD-ROM in th e CD-ROM drive.
47 To install Pres to! Video W ork s 6: 1. Insert the supplied CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. 2. If the CD-ROM d oe sn’t automatically boot, use Windows Expl orer to execute the Instal lMgr.exe file i n t he root direct ory. 3. Click the install butt on to instal l the driver.
