W ARNING ! According to accident statistics, children are saf er when pr operly r estrained in the rear seating positions than in the fr ont seating positions. Ne ver place a child less than one-y ear old forwar d-facing. Check vehicle instructions f or more information about air ba g/child restraint use.
This restraint is certified for air craft use only when used with the internal harness. Do not use as a belt-positioning seat because air craft seats do not ha ve shoulder belts. Use on forwar d-facing aircraft seats onl y and in a position where the la p belt can be tightened securel y .

10 Choosing Restraint and Position Y our child’ s height, weight and age determine ho w your child restraint should be placed in the v ehicle and which restraint should be used.

14 1 Fit top buckle plate ov er bottom buckle plate. The connection should be flat. P osition harness straps ov er the child’ s shoulders. 2 Hold buckle plates together with one hand and buckle with the other . Push buckle plates into buckle until you hear a “click.
16 Push each buckle plate into buckle until you hear a “click”. Remember to alwa ys pull up on harness straps to mak e sure buckle is lock ed tightly . 2 3 1 P osition harness straps ov er the child’ s shoulders. Securing Y our Child in the Child Restraint; Dual Buckle Plates Pull on harness adjustment strap to tighten harness snugly .
19 Removing Y our Child From the Child Restraint Press on r elease button and pull apart. 1 3 Loosen harness by pushing down on the harness release le ver while pulling out on the harness. Remov e child. For either style “A” or “B”, press r ed button on buckle to release the buckle plates.
20 21 Not all vehicle belts will w ork with this child restraint. Y ou must determine if your v ehicles belts are compatible with this child restraint. If y ou will use the LA TCH system, ref er to the LA TCH section. ELR - Emergency Locking Retractor Belts Definition: These belts only lock in a sudden stop or crash.
22 1 2 3 4 Thread both v ehicle lap and shoulder belts thr ough the slot (as shown) and out other side. Buckle . Pull up on shoulder belt until all slack is out and lap belt is tight. Grasp both vehicle belts together just behind the buckle plate and unbuckle.

29 Forward-Facing Installation with LA TCH Belt: Install LA TCH Belts 1 2 4 NO TE: Do not use LA TCH system along with the adult lap or lap/shoulder belt. Route LA TCH belt thr ough upper slot in side of shell. Pull one LA TCH hook acr oss the back and out the other side.
The top anchorage strap is used for the f orward-facing position only . Most vehicles made after 9/1/99 alr eady hav e the anchor hardwar e for a top anchorage strap .
32 33 Belt-Positioning Booster Use Lap/Shoulder Belt Belt-Positioning Booster Use: 40-80 lbs. (18.1-36.3 kg), 43-52” (110.1-132.1 cm), Over 1 year of age. Refer to the “Choosing Restraint and P osition” sectionto mak e sure your child is at the pr oper weight and height to use the belt- positioning booster .
34 35 Removal of Harness Fr om the back of the seat, unfasten harness fr om splitter plate. Pull harness adjustment strap as far out as possible. 1 2 Pull harness thr ough the slots fr om the front. Unthread harness fr om the harness retainer . Unthread harness fr om the buckle plates.
36 37 Belt-Positioning Booster Installation Place child restraint against the back of the vehicle seat. NO TE: T uck the top anchorage strap and hook under the child restraint. Place the child’ s bottom and back flat against the child restraint. 1 2 Place lap belt acr oss child’ s thighs.
38 39 4 3 Fr om underneath, pull buckle’ s metal clip through pad and shell. Reinstall Harness 2 Thread the harness do wn thr ough slot on left side of shell (1) , across bottom of shell (2) and up thr ough slot on right side (3) . Thread one latch plate onto harness fr om back to fr ont (4) .
40 41 Removing Seat Pad for Cleaning Remov e harness as described in the “Belt- P ositioning Booster” section. If your child r estraint has armrests, pull armrest cov ers off armrests and pull thr ough hole in back of shell.
42 43 1. If your child r estraint is not held securel y b y the belt: Press do wn firmly on the child r estraint and remov e all the slack in the belt. Make sur e the belt buckle is not up against the child restraint wher e the belt cannot be tightened.
