4 CHAPTER I: PR ODUCT INFORMATION 1-1 Package Contents Before you start using this produc t, please check if th ere is anything m issing in the package, and contac t your dealer to claim th e missing .

6 3 - RESET When th e IP camera is not fun ctioning properly, you can use a pen or similar object to press this reset b utton to reset the I P camera. You can also press and h old this button for more than 5 seconds t o clear all settings of IP camera, inc lude administrator pas sword.

8 Step 2: Insert moun ting plate B int o the slot at the bottom of the network camera. Step 3: Screw mounting plate B to th e network camera via th e 2 holes indicate d by the arrows.
9 Step 5: Scre w mountin g plate A an d B togeth er via the hole indicated by the arrow. Step 6: When m ounted on the wall, the cables can pass through mounting plate A as in the picture. Step 7: Connect an Ethernet cable to th e network camera via th e Ethernet p ort.
10 Step 8: Insert the DI/DO signal cable(s) into the DI/DO port. If you d o not have DI/DO accessories, you can skip this step . Step 9: Connect the power adapter to th e network camera, th en plug the power adapte r into a wall socket.
11 Chapter II Using Networ k IP Camera by Web Interface 2.1 Locate the IP a ddress of Network IP Ca mera You can use your new Network I P Camera by its web u ser interface via web b rowser.
12 2. After the installation is complete, double-click the “ Ed iView_Finder ” icon to e xecute the application. 3. Press ‘Discover’ b utton to search for all IP Cameras on your local network (m ake sure all IP Cam eras are powered on and connect to local net work first).
13 2.2 Connect to IP Camera ’s Web User Interface an d Install ActiveX Plugi n When you know the IP add ress of IP Camera, you can conn ect to it by Internet Explorer web browser by entering its I P address in ad dress bar.
14 For IE 9: Click ‘Install’ button located at the bottom of IE to install ActiveX plugin. If you’re prom pted that: ‘Windows Firewa ll has blocked some features of this p rogram’ Click ‘Allow access’, or IP Camera will not be able to function p roperly.
15 After ActiveX p lugin is installed, you should b e able to see th e video stream from cam era. NOTE: If this is the firs t time you use this IP Camera, you c an refer to chapter 2.4 for instructi ons on Setup Wizard, whic h will guide you to complete the software setup of your new IP C amera.
16 There are various c ontrols on web page, here are description s of every control item : Item Description ‘Home’ bu tton This button is visible in all setup pages of IP c amera, and you can go back to live video view by click ing this button when you’re in other page.
17 Click ‘Save’ button w hen you see the image you wish to save, and you’ll be p rompted to indic ate the folder on your computer t o save image f ile. If you c hanged your mind and don’t want to save image file, click ‘Cancel’. ‘Start Video Rec ord’ button Click this b utton to record vide o and save video file on your computer.
18 2.4 Client Settings In ‘Clien t Settings’ menu, you configure basic I P camera setting s like data tran sfer protocol and data storage folder. To access ‘C lient Settings’ m enu, click ‘Client Settings’ b utton on the left.
19 Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description RTSP Select this opt ion to use RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) to transfer video data. HTTP Select this opt ion to use HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol) to transfer video data.
20 Chapter III Ad vanced Configuration If you wish to c onfigure IP c amera’s settings, you c an access IP camera’s ‘ Configuration’ menu, which provides various kind s of system setting. To access configurati on menu, click ‘Configuration’ button on the left.
21 Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description Host Name Input th e IP camera’s hostn ame here, it can be any mean ingful words or charac ters that will help you to iden tify this IP cam era.
22 Please note that if this IP camera can’t access Internet, you mu st have a time server on local area network, or set the time manually. Set Manually Set IP camera’ s date and tim e manually. Please set current date and time by ‘Date’ and ‘Time’ dropdown men u.
23 Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description Password / Ret ype Password (Administrato r) Input ad ministrator’s new p assword in both ‘P assword’ and ‘Retype Password’ field, and click ‘Modify’ button to c hange administrator’s password.
24 3-3 Network You can c onfigure the network cam era’s general and advanced network settings h ere. 3-3-1 “General” Setup Page Set up IP address for this I P camera.
25 Available options are : DHCP IP v4: Obtain an IPv4 IP address from DHCP server on LAN automatically. DHCP IP v4 / IPv6: Obtain both IPv4 and I Pv6 address from DHCP server on LAN au tomatically. Static IPv4 / IPv6: Assign an IPv4 / IP v6 address to IP cam era manually.

29 The descript ions of every setting in this menu will be given b elow : Item Description Wireless Connection Select „Enab le‟ to activate wireless n etwork function of this IP camera, select „Disable‟ to d isable it. Network Type Select the network type of wireless connec tion.
30 SSID Input th e SSID of the wireless acc ess point you wish to c onnect. It should be less than 32 alph anumerical characte rs. When you select a wireless ac cess point above, it‟s S SID will be filled in this field automa tically.

32 Method 2: USE PINCODE SETTING St ep 1: Power on the wireless AP and the wireless network camera. Wait fo r 1 minute for both devic es to be up and running. Step 2: Open web browser and logo in wireless serve r. Go to wi reless/WPS setting p age. Step 3: Open web brows er and logo in wireless n etwork camera.
33 3-4 IP Filter When th is IP camera is directly connecte d to Internet and not protected by firewall, this function ac ts like a mini b uilt-in firewall to protec t the safety of this IP camera and avoid attacks from h ackers.

35 3-5 Video You can ad just the image of the IP camera in this menu. There are 3 sub-menus in th is menu: Image Setting, Video Setting, and O verlay, which can be acc essed by tabs on the top: 3-5-1 Image Setting You can adjust the image p arameters in this page .
36 Shaprness Default Set all above value s to default value ‘128’. Mirror Check ‘Vertical’ or ‘Horizontal’ b ox to flip the image vertically or horizontally, this w ill help to correct th e orientation of image w hen IP camera is hanged bottom-up by camera holder.

38 3-5-3 Overlay Setting You can adjust the video overlay paramet ers in this page. Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description Enable Time Stamp Check this box to enable overlaying time stamp on video. Remove the background color of the text (for Time Stamp) Check this box to remove time stamp’s background color.
39 ‘Update’ button to use the pic ture. Please note that there are certain restrictions: - Select .bmp / .jpg / .jpeg image files only. - Image’s resolut ion should be less than 160 x 128, and can be divided b y 4. - Do not upload image files that size is greater th an 64KB.
40 Enable Speake r (Speaker) Check this box to enable spe aker. If you don’t want people at IP camera to hear you, you can unch eck this box to disable it. Audio Type (Speaker) The format is fixed as G.711 When you finish with above sett ings, click ‘App ly’ button to save changes.
41 Enable (Window 1 to Window 3) Check this box to enable th is motion detection window. You can select window 1 to 3 to enable u p to 3 motion d etection windows. Wh en a motion detec tion window is enab led, a rectangu lar will appear on camera’s view, with its title on the top.
42 Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description Enable RS- 485 Check this box to enable RS-485 fun ctionality. Use Pelco-D Select this opt ion and RS-485 interface will output pan-tile control signal in Pelco- D format. Th is format is widely accepte d by most of pan-tilt camera cradle s.
43 - Stop Bit: Select stop bit: 1 or 2. - Home/Up/Down/L eft/Right: Inp ut the command string used to move pan-tilt c amera cradle to home or up/down/left/ right position.
44 3-9-1 Settings This page lists all e xisting even ts. You can click ‘Modify’ button to e dit an existing event, or ‘Remove’ to dele te an existing event.
45 Item Description Enable Setting Check this box to enable th is event. If you just want to disable this even t temporarily, you c an unc heck this box to keep this event an d disabling while not dele ting it. Title Input an y description text for th is event so you c an identify it quickly.
46 3-9-2 Media You can define what kind of media file should be saved on d esignated media. Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description One Snapshot Save a pictu re file when eve nt is triggered. H.264 Video Save a H.264 vide o clip.
47 3-9-3 Event Server You can define the details of remote med ia server: FTP (File), SMTP (Email), and Samba (File). A Samba server can be any computer ru nning windows operating syste m with network neighbor function e nabled. Many stand-alone network file se rver also support sam ba server function.

The NTFS format cannot be supported by this came ra. 2. Unlink motion detect ion, this functio n will record video at specified time period on selected w eekday(s).
51 3-11 SDHC The IP c amera module has an optional SD card slot PC BA board. The stand ard module does not includ e this board. The UI shows the capac ity is 0 MB when the module without SD card slot and mem ory card. f you need the function p lease check the option when you place the order of the IP camera module.

53 3-12 Log You can chec k the usage log of IP camera here. In this page , you can click: 1. First page / Final p age: Jump to first / final page of log. 2. Previous / Next: Jum p to previous or n ext page of log. 3. Remove: Clear log. Y ou’ll be p rompted for c onfirmation.
54 3-13 Device Info You can c heck the information an d network settings of this I P cam era. These information are very useful when you nee d to repair or fix th e problem of this IP camera.
55 3-14 Maintenance You can do some maintenan ce job about this I P camera here . Here are the descriptions of every setup item : Item Description Reboot Click this b utton to reboot the IP camera. This function is useful w hen you find IP ca mera is not working properly.
56 Upgrade Upgrade IP camera’s firmware. Click ‘Brow se’ button to select a firmwa re image file on your computer first, then click ‘Upgrade’ b utton. 3-15 Language You can change the display langu age of web interface. Click ‘Language’ button and select one language.
57 CHAPTER IV: E DIVIEW 64-CHANNEL VIEW ER 4- 1 EdiView I nstallation Please follow the following instructions to setup EdiView on Windows Vista / 7 operating system. Please note: You mu st login as sys tem administra tor when yo u’re installing EdiV iew .
58 2. You’ll see a User Acc ount Control security warning message ap pear, click ‘Yes’ to continue. 3. Click ‘Next’ to c ontinue. 4. Click ‘Install’ to begin installation.
59 5. ase wait while install ation is being performed. This m ay take few minutes t o done, please be patient..
60 6. The second part of installation will start au tomatically. 7. A new setup wind ow will appear, please click ‘Next’ b utton to continue. 8. You can select a folder on your compu ter to install EdiView by click ing ‘Chan ge’ button, or simply click ‘Next’ button directly to accept default folder.
61 9. Click ‘Install’ to continue. 10. Installation will take few minu tes, please be patient..
62 11. Click ‘Finish’ when you see this message. EdiVie w is read y to use now. 12. MSDE (Microsoft SQL Database Engin e) installation procedure will start at the same time.
63 13. You’ll be p rompted that this program has comp atibility issues, click ‘Run program’ to continue..
64 14. MSDE installation req uires compu ter reboot to comp lete, click ‘Finish’ to reboot the computer. 15. A new icon will ap pear on your comp uter’s desktop, you can double c lick on it to start EdiView.

66 You’ll see a User Account Control sec urity warning m essage appear, c lick ‘Yes’ to contin ue. EdiView login wind ow will appear . Default user I D is ‘admin’ and d efault password is ‘123 4’, click ‘OK’ when read y.
67 The main window of EdiView will appear: Split-screen mode selector Function Keys Date/Time, Remaining disk space Snapshot camera selection Exit Camera View.
68 The descript ions of every item are listed as follow: Item Description Split-screen mode selector EdiView supp orts from 1 to 6 4 cameras split views. The video from I P camera will display in split-screen display cells, an d you can view up to 64 IP cam eras at the same time.
69 Select th e file, and click ‘O pen’ button to use the picture as b ackground pic ture. To add a camera, right- click on the background p icture and select ‘Add Camera…’ A new window w ill.
70 ‘Motion Detecte d’ if you want to get a warning message when image lost of moti on is detecte d, then select the direction of camera ic on, this will help yo u to remember the orientation of camera on th e EMAP.
71 Date / Time, Remaining Disk Space Displays current date, time, and remaining d isk storage space. Exit Click this b utton to leave EdiVie w All camera’s video will displayed in ‘Camera View’ .
72 The description of these items is listed as follow: Item Description Pan / Tilt control Click the direc tion arrow to control camera ’s pan / tilt. Pan / Tilt speed Drag the slide bar to adjust the pan / tilt speed when you click pan / tilt control arrow.

75 IP camera setup window will app ear on the right: If your IP camera is located on local area network, click ‘Search’ b utton. Wait for few seconds or few minu tes until th e search is complete, and all IP cameras found on your local area network will b e listed: In this e xample, an IP camera has been found at IP address 192.
76 When an IP camera is found , you can also select it in the list and: View Image: View the live image from selec ted IP camera. Detail: Connec t to selected IP camera’s web configurati on m enu. 77 Every IP c amera has a chec k box, indicating if it is enabled. If a camera is not enab led, it will not be d isplayed in EdiView’s video vie w. You can also m anage IP camera list by the following function: Enable All: En able all IP c ameras in the list.

EdiView will attempt to connect to selected IP c amera, if it’s n ot connectab le, you’ll receive an error message later.
79 Use the m ouse to click blocks on the grid pattern to assign the areas you wishes EdiView to d etect / ignore motion. EdiView will d etect m otion for areas which are NOT covered by blocks only. To add or erase blocks: To add b locks, click + butt on; to erase blocks, click- button.
80 Drag the slide bar to setup sensitivity level from 1 to 10. Larger nu mber indicates m ore sensitivity. To apply th is motion detec tion settings to all IP cameras, click ‘Apply to All Cameras’ button. When you finish setting, c lick ‘OK’ button to save chan ges you made, or click ‘C ancel’ button to d iscard all settings you m ade.

Th ere are total 48 x 7 blocks in a week sched ule, where every b lock represents half an h our.
86 ‘DEL’ first, th en click the tim e period block. Events Select the event to trigger rec ording: Round-The-Clock: Re cording is tim e-activated (according to schedule). Motion Detection: Recording is motion-activated. DI Input: Rec ording is activated by DI (Digital Input) signal located on IP camera.
87 EdiView can send you an alarm E-Mail message so you c an know something happened on the IP c amera (motion det ected, video lost, or conn ection lost). A sound can be played to notify the operat or at the comp uter where EdiVie w is installed, too.
88 you want to spec ify more than one alarm condition for the same IP cam era, Trigger Operation( s) Define the action which will be taken when alarm is triggered: Send E-Mail: an E-mail will be sen t when alarm is triggered. Play Sound: Play a sound on the compute r where EdiView is in stalled.
89 There are two kin ds of user in Ed iView: Administrator an d user. Administrat or can c onfigure EdiView, while u ser can only view video of camera, and perform limited system configuration (sch edule, rec ord, and video playb ack).
90 Administrator’s u ser ID is always b e ‘admin’ an d cannot be changed. You can only change admin’s p assword in Administrator’s ‘ Password’ and ‘Confirm Password ’ field. Please inpu t the same password in both fields for confirmation .

93 4-4-1 Advanced Se arch You can search for recorded video within spec ific time p eriod, and get a list of rec ord modes of all IP cameras. When you enter this menu, please specify start time and stop time: (You can input 0 - 23 in ‘Hour in a day’ field by ke yboard directly).
94 When you finish, click ‘SEARCH’ b utton to search for recorded v ideo, and you’ll get a similar output like this: In this pictu re, a recorded video of ‘Camera 1’ has been found at 12 o’c lock. A blue mark indicates it’ s a ‘Round Cloc k’ (manual) recording.

96 4-4-2 Event Searc h You can search for video for playbac k by triggering even t: round the clock, motion detection, or digital inpu t..
97 To search for video, y ou have to sp ecify: 1) starting and ending time for video search ing in ‘Start time’ and ‘Stop time’ field 2) Recording mode: Round C lock, Motion Detection, and I/O Mode ( Digital Input). You can check all boxes you wish to search for.
98 When you finish, click ‘Search ’ button to search for recorded vide o, and a list similar to this will appear: You can select the video clip you wish to play, an d click ‘P lay’ button.

101 Pause a p laying video, click ‘Play’ to resume vide o playback Skip to next vide o frame Skip to the ending position of video clip Speed Control When vide o is stopped, you can click + or – bu tton to adjust video playback speed: from 1/4 to 4x speed.
102 You can click ‘Save as’ butt on to save current im age (you’ll be promp ted for image saving location) , or click ‘Print’ to print cu rrent image to printer. To back to p revious menu , click ‘Cancel’; click ‘Reset’ to reset image p arameters back to default value.
