4 Important Safety Instructions These warnings ar e provided in the interest s of your safety . Ensur e you fully understand them befor e installing or us ing the appliance. 7 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
8 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability s hould these safety measures not be observed.
9 Tilt the appliance slightly towards the rear and pr op it securely . Unscrew the door hinge scr ews (K) and remove the hinge pin br acket (1). Open the door a little way and take it out downwards. Unscrew the upper pin (A) and scr ew it into place on the opposite side.
10 Prior to Initial Start–Up Please clean the appliance interior and all accessories prior to initial start-up (see section: “Cleaning and Care”). Remove the ice pack from the appliance. Only put the ice pack to freeze in the top dr awer after the optimal storage temper ature of –18 °C has been reached.

12 Starting up and temper atur e r egulation Turn the temper ature regulator (1) in the dir ection of “1” . The green light (5) and the r ed light (4) come on, the audible warning sounds (if fitted), and the refriger ation motor starts up. Additionally operate the fast-fr eeze switch (2).
13 Fr eezing and storing fr ozen food Y ou can use your freezer for freezing fr esh food yourself. Important! • The temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be –18°C or colder before fr eezing food. • Please observe the freezing capacity given on the r ating plate.
14 Place the packed food in the drawer s. Place food to be frozen in the appliance´s top drawer (1) equipped with its own r efrigerating unit. Unfrozen food must not touch items alr eady frozen, otherwise the frozen food could begin to defr ost. Freezer drawer s (2), (3) and (4) should only be used for storage of fr ozen food.
Stor age Goods Symbols/Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawer s show different types of fr ozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated storage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pr e- treating befor e freezing.
16 Each temperatur e rise reduces the keeping qualities of your frozen food. Around 12 hour s before defrosting your fr eezer , switch over to fast freeze to build up a low temper ature reserve in the fr ozen food.
17 Important! • Ethereal oils and or ganic solvents can attack plastic parts, e.g. – lemon juice or the juice from or ange peel; – butyric acid; – cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts.
18 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near cookers, r adiators or other sources of warmth. High ambient temperatur es cause longer , more frequent operation of the compr essor . • Ensure sufficient air cir culation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
19 Symptom Appliance does not work, no pilot light is illuminated. P ossible Cause Appliance is not switched on. Mains plug is not plugged in or is loose. Fuse has blown or is defective Socket is defective. Mains malfunctions are to be corrected by an electrician.
20 Symptom The freezer temper ature is not sufficient, red light lights up. P ossible Cause Temper ature is not properly adjusted. A large quantity of warm food placed in the appli- ance within the last 24 hours. Remedy Please look in the “Initial Start Up” section.

24 Noises during Oper ation The following noises are char acteristic of refrigeration appliances: • Clicks Whenever the compr essor switches on or off, a click can be heard. • Humming As soon as the compressor is in oper ation, you can hear it humming.
