4 Safety The safety aspects of our refriger ators/freezer s comply with accepted tech- nical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law . Nevertheless, we consider it our obligation to make you aware of the following safety infor- mation: Intended u se • The refriger ator is intended for use in the home.
5 appliances. It is therefor e important that you ensure adequate supervision and never let children play with the appliance! Daily Oper ation • Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temper atures.
6 Remove tr ansport safeguar d The appliance and the interior fittings are pr otected for transport. • Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance. Y our appliance is equipped with shelf retainer s that make it possible to secure the shelves during tr ansporta- tion.

8 Interior Accessories Stor age shelves • Y ou should always slide one of the full size glass storage shelf into the lowest set of guides, above the fruit and the vegetable containers, and keep it in this position.
9 Dr awer The drawer is suitable for storing fruit and vegetables. There is a separator inside the dr awer that can be placed in different posi- tions to allow for the subdivision best suited to personal needs. There is a grille on the bottom of the drawer to separ ate the fruit and vegetables from any humidity that may form on the bottom surface.
10 Air recycling The refriger ator compartment is equipped with a special D.A.C.(Dynamic Air Cooling) fan which can be turned on with the switch B with the green light on, means that the fan is working. As a suggestion the fan (D.A.C.) should be used with ambient temperatur e exceeding 25°C .
11 Fr eezing and storing fr ozen food Y ou can use your freezer for freezing fr esh food yourself. Important! • The temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be –18 °C or colder before fr eezing food. • Please observe the freezing capacity given on the r ating plate.
12 Fr eezing Calendar • The symbols on the drawer s show different types of frozen goods. • The numbers indicate stor age times in months for the appropriate types of frozen goods. Whether the upper or lower value of the indicated sto- rage time is valid depends on the quality of the foods and pr e-treating before fr eezing.
13 Installation of the char coal filter On delivery the charcoal fil- ter is placed in a plastic bag to secure the length of life of the charcoal filter . The filter should be placed behind the flap before the appliance is turned on. • Pull the cover outward • The char coal filter is then mounted in the slot found in the back of the cover .
14 Defr osting Refrigerator Frost is automatically eliminated fr om the evaporator of the refriger ator compartment every time the motor compressor stops, during normal use. The defrost water dr ains out through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, over the motor compressor , wher e it evaporates.
15 4. Clean the appliance and the interior accessories with a cloth and lukewarm water . Commercially available dish washing deter gents may also be used. 5. After cleaning wipe with fr esh water and rub dry . Accumulation of dust at the condenser increases ener gy consumption.
16 The food is too warm. Interior lighting does not work. The appliance is near a heat source. Temper ature is not pr operly adjusted. Please look in the "Initial Start Up" section. Light bulb is defective. Please look in the "Changing the Light Bulb" section.
17 Unusual noises. The appliance is touching the wall or other objects. Appliance is not level. A component, e.g. a pipe, on the rear of the appliance is touching another part of the appliance or the wall. The compressor starts after a period of time.

19 Guar antee Conditions Guar antee Conditions AEG offer the following guarantee to the fir st purchaser of this appliance. 1. The guarantee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first r etail purchaser , which must be verified by pur chase invoice or similar documen- tation.
20 Installation Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. WARNING – THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability s hould these safety measures not be observed.
21 P ositioning This appliance should only be installed at a location where the ambient temperatur e corresponds to the climate classification indicated on the rat- ing plate, which is located at the left on the inside of the appliance.
22 Rear spacers Fit the rear spacer s contained in the documentation bag to ensu- re even dissipation of heat gene- reted during oper ation. Proceed in the sequence illustrated by the figures. D594 Fitting the Door Handles 1. Screw the top handle bracket to the handle r od (1).
23 H Rehingeing the door The side at which the door opens can be changed from the right side (factory adjust- ment) to the left side, if the installation site requir es. Warning! When changing the side at which the door opens, the appliance may not be connected to the mains.
24 Slide the hole cover out of the ventilation grille by pushing it in the direction of the arr ow and reassemble it on the oppo- site side; 1 1. refit the ventilation grille, fix- ing the screws; 12. r eassemble the lower door; 13. r eassemble the middle hinge on the opposite side; 14.
