5 Securing the door of the dishwasher This wa y you can ensure that children cannot open the door of the dishwasher: 1. There is a le ver (1) on the left side of the door han- dle. Y ou can secure the door against being opened unintentionally by pressing this lev er to the back using a small scre wdriver or the handle of a spoon.
6 2 Economical and Ecological Dishwash- ing • Only connect the dishwasher to the hot w ater sup- ply if your hot w ater is not electrically heated. • Ensure that the water softener is correctly adjusted. • Do not pre-rinse dishes under running water .

8 Contr ol panel Switch on the dishwasher and star t a wash pro- gramme using the pr ogramme selector . Set the point at which the wash prog ramme is to star t using the prog ramme switc h . The programme s witch rotates during the wash programme and indi- cates the position that has been reached in the pro- gramm e.
9 Prior to using f or the fir st time Prior to using for the first time, remov e all the clips with which the dish rac ks are secured for tr anspor t. Then perf o rm the following steps: 1. Adjust the water softener 2. Filling with Special Salt f or the W ater Softener 3.
10 Filling with Special Salt f or the W ater Softener 1 Use only special salt f or dish washers . Nev er fill the salt container with an y another type of salt (e.g. culinary salt) or dishwasher deter- gent. This would i rreparab ly damage the water softener .
11 Filling with Rinse Aid Rinse aid ensures that your dishes gleam and are free from spots, and that y ou glasses are clear . 1 Use only branded rinse aid f or dishwashers. Ne ver fil l the rinse aid container with a ny another substance (e.g. concentr ated vine- gar).
12 In Dail y Use • Is it necessar y to refill with special salt or rinse aid? • Load cutler y and dishes into the dishwasher • Fill with dishwasher detergent • Select a wash prog ramme suitab .
13 Loading Cutlery 1 Long bladed kniv es stored in an upright posi- tion are a potential hazard. 1 Long and/or shar p items of cutlery such as car ving knives m ust be positioned horizon- tally in the upper basket. 1 T ak e care when loading or unloading sharp i t e m ss u c ha sk n i v e s .
14 Loading Cups, Glasses and Coffee Services Load small, delicate items and long pointed cutlery in the upper rac k. • Arrange plates and dishes offset on and under the f olding cup rac ks so that washing water can reach all items. • The cup rac ks can be fol ded up out of the wa y for tall items.
15 Filling with Deter gent 1 Use only dishwasher detergent. Fill with Detergent: Prior to the star t of a wash progr amme ( not f or the Pre W ash programme). The detergent is released into the wash w ater during the programme. 2 Please observe the manuf acturer ’ s dosing and storage recommendations giv en on the detergent packaging.
16 Selecting the W ash Pr ogramme (Pr ogramme T able) Choose the most suitable wash progr amme with the aid of this table: 1) The consumption figures were recorded und er standard conditions. They are dependent on the loadin g of the dish racks . V ar iations are therefore possible in practice.
17 Star ting the W ash Pr ogramme 1. Check that the dishes and cutlery are loaded into the dishwasher in such a manner that the spra y ar ms are free to rotate. 2. Open the tap fully . 3. Close dishwasher door . 4. T urn the programme s witch clockwise to A ,o r B or C (see „ Programme T able “ ).
18 Switching Off the Dishwasher When the wash programme is finished: 1. T urn the program selector to the I position. 1 Hot steam may escape if the door is opened immediately after the end of the progr amme. Theref ore: 2. Open the door carefully . Emptying the Dishwasher 3 Hot dishes are sensitiv e to knocks .
19 Care and Cleaning 1 Do not under any circumstances use f urni- ture care products or aggressiv e cleaners. • If necessary , clean the c ontrols only with a soft cloth and pure warm water . • The spra y ar ms do not need cleaning. • Occasionally check t he internal containers, door seal, and water inlet f or soiling, clean if necessar y .
20 What to do, when ... T ry to rectify minor faults on the dishwasher with the aid of the instructions given here . If you call in cus- tomer service to resolve one of the malfunctions listed here, o.
21 The dishes are wet and dull. • Rinse aid was not used. • The rinse aid container is empty . There are streaks, milky spots or a bluish coating on glasses and dishes. • Decrease rinse aid dosing. There are dried water dr ops on the glasses and dishes.

24 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS Installing the Dishwasher • The dishwasher mu st be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to ensure that it is stable and le vel. • T o compensate f or unev enness in t he floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units e xtend the threaded f eet by unscrewing.
25 Depending on type, the dishwasher is to be installed as f ollows: Dishwashers That Can Be Inte- grated (see installation template supplied) 3 The door of the appliance can be fitted with a wooden f.
26 1 If the dishwasher is later used as a free- standing appliance, the original work surface must be re-mounted. 3 The plinth on free-standing appliances is not adjustable . • F ree-standing appliances can be fitted with a d é cor panel to match the facings of other kitchen equipment.
27 Connecting the Dishwasher W ater connection The dishwasher is fitted with saf ety de vices that pre- vent the return of wash water into the dri nking water system and comply with the applicable plumbing reg- ulations. • The dishwasher can be connected to cold and hot water supplies up to max.
28 Wa t e r d r a i n Drain hose 1 The drain hose m ust not be kinked, crushed or entangled. • Connecting the drain hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum required height 30 cm above the low er edge of the machine. Extension hoses • Extension hoses are av ailable from y our dealer or customer ser vice.
29 Electrical connection 1 In compliance with electric company techni- cal requirements f or mains connections, hard-wired connections to the mains ma y only be made by approv ed electr i-cians.
30 Connections The water inlet and drain hoses , as well as the mains cable m ust be connected beside the dishwasher because there is no space f or them behind the a ppli- ance.
