Operating Instructions 5 OPER ATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Safety The safety aspects of this appliance comply with accepted technical standards and the German Appliance Safety Law . However , as manufac- turer s we also believe it is our responsibility to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
Operating Instructions 6 • Overheated fats and oils catch fire quickly . Y ou should supervise cooking when preparing foods in fat or oil (e.g. chips). • Switch off the cooking zones after use. Safety When Cleaning • For safety reasons do not clean the appliance with a steam jet or high pressur e cleaner .
Operating Instructions 7 2 Disposal Disposing of the Packaging Material • All parts of the packaging can be fully recycled; foil and expanded polyurethane parts ar e appr opriately identified. Please dispose of packaging material and, if appropriate, your old appliance pr operly .
Operating Instructions 8 The K ey Featur es of Y our Appliance • Glass ceramic cooking surface: The appliance has a glass cer amic cooking surface and 4 rapid r esponse cooking zones. The particularly powerful radiant heater elements significantly shorten the amount of time taken for the zones to heat up.

Operating Instructions 14 Residual Heat Indicator When an individual cooking zone or the entire hob is switched off, any residual heat is shown with an h (for “ Hot ” ) in the digital display for the appropriate cooking zones.

Operating Instructions 17 Locking/Unlocking the Contr ol P anel With the exception of the “ On/Off ” sensor field the contr ol panel can be locked at any requir ed time during cooking in or der to prevent adjusting the settings such as when wiping over with a cloth.
Operating Instructions 18 Timer A cooking duration can be set with the integr ated timer for all cooking zones. When the end of the cooking duration is reached, the cooking zone switches itself off automatically . 0 1. Using the cooking zone sensor field, select the r equir ed cooking zone and set the r equired heat sett ing.
Operating Instructions 19 3 To set the timer more quickly , leave your finger on the + or - sensor field until the r equired time is r eached. If the - sensor field is operated fir st, the time setting will begin at 99 minutes; if the + sensor field is opera ted first, the time setting will begin at 1 minute.
Operating Instructions 20 Uses , tables and tips Pa n s The better the pan, the better the r esults. • Y ou can r ecognise good pans by their bases. The base should be as thick and flat as possible. • P ay particular attention when buying new pans to the diameter of the base.
Operating Instructions 21 Advice on cooking with and without automatic warm up The automatic warm up function is suitable for: • dishes that start off cold, ar e heated up at high power and do not need to be continually watched when cooking on the selected heat setting, • dishes that ar e put in a hot frying pan.
Operating Instructions 22 T ypical Heat Settings The information given in the following tables is for guidance. The heat setting requir ed for cooking depends on the quality of the pans and on the type and quantity of food.

Operating Instructions 24 1 Problem Dirt 0 1. Remove burnt-on sugar , melted plas- tic, aluminium foil or other meltable materials with a glass scraper imme- diately and while still hot . 1 Important: There is a risk of burning yourself when the glass scr aper is used on a hot cooking zone! 2.

Rectifying faults It is possible that faults have been caused by a minor err or , which you can correct your self with the help of the following instructions. Do not attempt any further repair s if the following instructions do not help in each specific case.
Operating Instructions 26 residual heat appears in the display? Check whether – the cooking zone was only used for a short period and is therefor e not hot enough. If the cooking zone is hot, call AEG customer service. .... a cooking zone cannot be switched off? Check whether – the touch fields are partially cover ed by a damp cloth or liquid.
