4 OPERA TION Bef ore using Remov e all secur ing tapes. W ash inside the appliance with luke war m w ater and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
5 Fresh f ood refrigeration T o obtain the best perf or mance , do not store warm f ood or e v aporating liquids in the refrigerator ; do cov er or wrap the food, particular ly if it has a strong flav our .
6 Mo v able shelves The walls of the refrigerator ha ve runners so that shelves can be positioned as desired. The door shelves can be easily remo ved f or cleaning. Gently ease the shelf in the directions shown. Adjustment of the door shelves can be made to accommodate varying heights of bottles and other containers.
7 Normal Operating Sounds • Y ou ma y hear faint gurgling or b ubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear , to the cooling plate/e v aporator . • When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round, and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
8 Defr osting Refrigerator The refrigerator automatically defrosts ev er y time the compressor stops. The water is discharged, via the pipe, into a tra y located at the back of the appliance abov e the compressor , where it ev aporates.
9 Remember to wash the defrost cleaner in hot soap y water at regular intervals. Dr y throughly bef ore replacing. Freezer When the frost has reached a thickness of up to 4mm it can be remov ed using a plastic scraper . During this operation it is not necessar y to disconnect the appliance from the mains and remov e the f ood.
