4 OPERA TION Bef ore using Remov e all securing tapes. Wash inside the appliance with luke w ar m water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). T emperature control The temperature within the appliance is controlled b y the thermostat control knob situated at the top of the cabinet.
5 M aking ice cubes The appliance is provided with one or more tra ys for ice-cubes tra ys. Fill the tra y(s) 3/4 full to giv e the ice space to e xpand and place them in the freezer compar tment. T o release the ice cubes simply giv e the tray a slight twist.
6 Mo v able shelves The walls of the refrigerator ha ve runners so that shelves can be positioned as desired. P ositioning the door shelves T o permit storage of f ood pac kages of v arious sizes, the door shelves can be adjusted in height. T o do this proceed as sho wn in the diagr am.
7 HINTS AND TIPS Normal Operating Sounds • Y ou may hear f aint gurgling or b ubb ling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear , to the cooling plate/e v aporator . • When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round, and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
8 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING External c leaning Many pr oprietary kitchen surface c leaners contain chemicals that can attac k/damage the plastics used in this appliance. For this reason it is recommended that the outer casing of this appliance is only c leaned with warm water with a little washing-up liquid added.
9 Defr osting Refrigerator The refrigerator automatically defrosts ev er y time the compressor stops. The water is discharged, via the pipe, into a tra y located at the back of the appliance abov e the compressor , where it ev aporates.
