2 Dear customer , Before placing your new refrigerator/freezer into operation please read these operating instructions carefully . They contain important information for safe use, for installation and for care of the appliance. Please keep these operating instructions for future reference.

4 Safety Please read this instruction book before using the appliance and retain for future reference. These warnings are provided in the interests of your safety , ensure you understand them fully before using the appliance. Intended use ¥ The appliance is intended for use in the home.
5 extinguisher refill cartridges etc in the refrigerator/freezer . ¥ Bottles and cans must not be placed in the freezer compartment. They can burst when the contents freeze, high carbonate content drinks can even explode! Never store lemonade, juices, beer , wine, sparkling wine etc.
6 Remove transport safeguard The appliance and the interior fittings are protected for transport. ¥ Remove all adhesive tape and packing pieces from the interior of the appliance. Y ou can remove any remnants of adhesive using white spirit. W arning! Before disposing of old appliances make them inoperable.
Starting up and temperature regulation W ash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5ml to 0,5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger . Dry the appliance thoroughly . ¥ When the refrigerator compartment door is opened, the internal ligh- ting is switched on.
8 Interior Accessories Storage shelves ¥ Y ou should always slide one of the full size glass storage shelves into the lowest set of guides, above the fruit and vegetable containers, and keep it in this position.
9 Freezing and storing frozen food Y ou can use your freezer for freezing fresh food yourself. Important! ¥ The temperature in the freezer compartment must be Ð18 ¡C or col- der before freezing food. ¥ Please observe the freezing capacity given on the rating plate.
10 ¥ Allow warm food to cool down before freezing. The warmth will cau- se increased ice formation and increase the power consumption. ¥ Please note the maximum storage times specified by the manufac- turer . ¥ Thawed foods which have not been processed further (cooked into meals) may not under any circumstances be frozen a second time.
11 Preparation of Ice Cubes 1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water , place it in the freezer compartment and leave to freeze. 2. T o loosen the frozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tray or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
12 Switching off the appliance T o switch off the appliance, turn the temperature regulator to position "0" or disconnect from the electricity supply . If the appliance is not going to be used for an extended period: 1. Remove all refrigerated and deep-frozen packages as well as ice trays.
13 Ð lemon juice or the juice from orange peel, Ð butyric acid; Ð cleansers which contain acetic acid. Do not allow such substances to come into contact with appliance parts. ¥ Do not use any abrasive cleansers. 1. Remove frozen food and the food from the refrigerator .
14 Heavy build up of frost, pos- sibly also on the door seal. Door seal is not air tight (possibly after changing over the hinges). Carefully warm the leaking sections of the door seal with a hair dryer (not hotter than approx. 50 ¡C). At the same time shape the war- med door seal by hand such that it sits correctly .
15 The compressor starts after a period of time. See the "Cleaning and Care" section. This is normal, no error has occurred. The compressor does not start immediately after chan- ging the temperature set- ting. W ater on the floor or on sto- rage shelves.

17 Guarantee Conditions Guarantee Conditions AEG offer the following guarantee to the first purchaser of this appliance. 1. The guarantee is valid for 12 months commencing when the appliance is handed over to the first retail purchaser , which must be verified by purcha- se invoice or similar documentation.
18 Installation Electrical Connection Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. W ARNING Ð THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED The manufacturer declines any liability should these safety mea- sures not be observed.
19 Installation Location The appliance should be set up in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use is affected by the ambient temperature. The appliance should therefore Ð not be exposed to direct su.
20 P P1 P1 P C D C B A D337 D Right opening Remove the pins ÒPÓ and ÒP1Ó. Left opening 1. Remove ÒPÓ from both sides and the door . 2. Remove (A) from the left side and (B-C-D) from the right side. 3. Refit (B-C-D) on the left side and (A) on the right side.
21 A D023 Push appliance into the hous- ing until stop strip (A) touches the kitchen unit. D C D723 Open the door and push the appliance against the side of the kitchen unit opposite to that of appliance hinges. Fasten the appliance with 4 screws provided in the kit included with the appliance.
22 Place guide (A) on the inside part of the furniture door , up and down as shown in the figure and mark the position of external holes. After having drilled holes, fix the guide with the screws supplied. 20 mm A 50mm PR166 Separate parts A, B, C, D as shown in the figure PR266 A B C D PR33 C A Fix cover (C) on guide (A) until it clips into place.
23 Open the appliance door and the furniture door at 90¡. Insert the small square (B) into guide (A). Put together the appliance door and the furniture door and mark the holes as indicated in the figu- re. Remove the squares and drill holes with ¿ 2 mm at 8 mm from the outer edge of the door .
