818 35 28-00/ 2 9 Remove the transport fittings fr om the storage shelves: 4. Slide the fittings securing the shelf forward t o the thicker section on the edge of the storage shelf. 5. Slide the stor age shelf far enough forward so that it ca n be hinged downwar ds and the fittings can be r emoved from the guides.
10 818 35 28-00/2 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use and efficient performance of the appliance is affected by the ambient temperatur e.
Installation 818 35 28-00/ 2 11 The r efrigerator/fr eezer needs ventilation Air is fed under the door through the vent slots in the base and is exhausted upwar ds along the back wall. T o ensure pr oper air circulat ion never cover or alter the vent openings.

Unplug from the mains, befor e rever sing the door . 0 1. Open the fr eezer compartment door and remove the plinth to the front.

F asten the self-closing mechanism to the bottom left of the fridge compartment door . 13. Car efully slide the fridge com- partment door onto the top bear- ing pivot and close.

Car efully slide the fr eezer com- partment door onto the centre bearing pivot and close. 17. Place the lower door bearing with the bearing pivot in the lower left of the fr eezer compartment door and fasten.

818 35 28-00/ 2 21 ALARM OFF button With the ALARM OFF button, th e acoustic warning signal can be switched off, e.g. the "Open Door" warning when sorting in or out, the food to be chilled or frozen.

24 818 35 28-00/2 COOLMA TIC/FROSTMA T IC COOLMA TIC The COOLMA TIC function is su ited for quick cooling of large quantities of goods in the r efrigerator , e.g. drinks and salads for a party or wedding. 0 1. The COOLMA TIC function is switched on by pressing the COOLMA TIC button.

T o switch off the appliance, hold d own the ON/OFF button. This will r esult in a c ountdown fr om "3" to "1" taking place in th e tempera tur e displays.
26 818 35 28-00/2 Holiday Mode In the holiday mode the temperatur e for the refriger ator is appr oxi- mately +15 °C. In the holiday mode it is therefor e possible to leave the door of the empty refriger ator closed during periods of extended absence.
818 35 28-00/ 2 27 Contr ol and Information Systems The contr ol and information systems consist of temper atur e displays, an optical warning display and an acoustic warning.
28 818 35 28-00/2 For the fr eezer: The r ed warning display flashes and a warning tone sounds as soon as the temperatur e in the freezer rises to mor e than -8 °C. In addition the fr eezer temperatur e disp lay flashes. 0 1. Y ou can switch off the warn ing to ne using the ALARM OFF button.
818 35 28-00/ 2 29 Interior Accessories Stor age Shelves A storage shelf must be inserted in to the lower guide tr ack above the fruit and vegetable drawer s. It must always remain in this position, so that fruits and veg etabl es remain fr esh longer .

818 35 28-00/ 2 31 Corr ect stor age For physical reasons, the r efrigerator compartment has different temper ature zones. The coldest zone is on the lowest storage shelf imme diately above the salad bin. Warmer zones ar e the upper storage shelves and door r acks.
32 818 35 28-00/2 Fr eezing Except for the bottom drawer , which serves only for storage purposes, all compartments and drawer s in the freezer compartment ar e suitable for freezing fr esh food. Wa r n i n g! • Be for e foods are fr ozen, the actual temperatur e in the freezer compartment must be -18 °C or colder .
818 35 28-00/ 2 33 Tips: • T he following are suited for the packaging of fr ozen goods: – freezer bags and polyethylene wr aps; – plastic containers for fr ozen foods; – extra-thick aluminium foil • T he following are suited for sealing bags and wr aps: plastic clips, rubber b ands or adhesive tape.
34 818 35 28-00/2 Pr epar ation of Ice Cubes 0 1. Fill ice cube tray 3/4 full with co ld water and place in a dr awer and allow to freeze. 2. T o r emove the finished ice cubes twist the ice cube tr ay or hold under running water for a short time.

Remove fr ozen goods, pack them in severa l layers of newspaper , cover them and store them in a cool place. 3. Switch off the appliance and remove plug from the mains, or discon- nect fr om the electricity supply .

It switches on again the next time the door is opened. 1 Wa r n i n g ! Danger of electrical shock! Befor e replacing the light bulb switch off the appliance and remove the mains plug.
