Installation 16 Fitting the plinth Important! For the efficient operation of the appliance, it is important that the original ventilation grid is used. • For an opening height dimension A=820 mm and a plinth height dimension a=1 00 mm, the plinth may be fitted without adjustments.
17 Installation The mains cable may only be changed by a qualified electrician or competent person. If your appliance needs r epairing, please contact your local AEG Service Force Centr e. Starting up and temper ature r egulation Important! Only use the appliance when built–in! ☞ 1. Connect the appliance to the mains electricity supply . When the refriger ator compartment door is opened, the internal light- ing is switched on. The temperatur e control knob is located on the right hand side of the refriger ator compartment.
If this happens, turn the thermostat knob back to a warmer setting (position “3” to “4”). At this setting the compressor will be switched on and off as usual and automatic defrosting r ecommenced. 22 Fr eezing and storing frozen food The freezer compartment is for fr eezing and storing food. Important! • The temper ature in the freezer compartment must be –18°C or cold- er before fr eezing fresh food or storing food alr eady frozen. • Do not fr eeze too large a quantity at any one time (max.
23 Pr eparation of Ice Cubes ☞ 1. Fill the ice cube tray 3/4 full with cold water , place it in the fr eezer compartment and leave to freeze. 2. To loosen the fr ozen cubes, either bend the ice cube tray or hold it under running water for a few seconds.
Cleaning and Care 24 Cleaning and Car e For hygienic reasons the appliance interior , including interior acces- sories, should be cleaned regularly . Warning! • The appliance must not be connected to the mains during cleaning. Danger of electrical shock.

26 Ener gy Saving Tips • Do not install the appliance near boiler s, radiators or other sour ces of heat. High ambient temperatur es cause longer , more frequent operation of the compr essor . • Ensur e sufficient air circulation and exhaust at the appliance base and at the back wall of the appliance.
