5 OPERA TION Bef ore use Remov e all secur ing tapes. W ash inside the appliance with luke war m water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).
6 Howe ver , if the appliance is wor king in unf av ourable room conditions such as - poor ventilation, - high temperature, - frequent door openings, it ma y be necessar y to select a more suitable setting. In determining the correct temperature control setting all these f actors hav e to be considered and some e xperimentation may be necessary .
7 Making ice cubes The appliance is provided with one or more tra ys for ice-cubes tra ys. Fill the tra y(s) 3/4 full to give the ice space to e xpand and place them in the freezer compartment. T o release the ice cubes simply give the tra y a slight twist.
8 Mo vab le shelves The walls of the refrigerator ha ve runners so that shelves can be positioned as desired. P ositioning the door shelves T o per mit storage of f ood packages of v ar ious sizes , the door shelves can be adjusted in height. T o do this proceed as shown in the diagram.
9 H INTS AND TIPS Normal Operating Sounds • Y ou may hear f aint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the refrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear , to the cooling plate/e vapor ator. • When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped round, and you will hear a whirring sound or pulsating noise from the compressor .
10 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING External c leaning Many pr oprietar y kitchen surface c leaners contain chemicals that can attac k/damage the plastics used in this appliance. For this reason it is recommended that the outer casing of this appliance is only c leaned with warm water with a little washing-up liquid added.
