8 818 19 27-00/8 Appliance T r ansport Two per sons are r equired for tr ansport of the appliance. There ar e two recessed handles at the fr ont of the base and at the back of the appliance at the top for improved gripping. 0 1. Grip the appliance with the recessed handles positioned as in the draw- ing, and transport the appliance.
Before Use 818 19 27-00/8 9 2. Remove the transport pr otection pieces and pull off the adhesive tape. 3. Wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water with a little bicarbonate of soda added (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger .
10 818 19 27-00/8 Installation Installation Location The appliance should be installed in a well ventilated, dry room. Energy use is affected by the ambient temper ature.
Installation 818 19 27-00/8 11 The Refriger ator needs Ventilation Air is fed under the door thr ough the vent slots in the base and is exhausted upwards along the back wall.

818 19 27-00/8 13 Reversing the Door The door hinges can be changed from right (as supplied) to left if requir ed to suit the location where the appliance is installed. 1 War n in g! Unplug from the mains befor e rever sing the door . 0 1. Open the door and remove the plinth cover to the fr ont.

Remove the door fitting on the lower right (1) and r eposition the door bearing cover fr om the lower left to the right of the door (2), place the door fitting supplied in the lower left of the door (3). Carefully remove the door to the front and place on one side.

818 19 27-00/8 17 T emperatur e Display The temperatur e display can indicate several pieces of information. • During normal opera tion, the temperatur e curr ently present in the refriger ator (ACTUAL temperatur e) is displayed, the corresponding light illuminates.
18 818 19 27-00/8 T emper ature Adjustment With the „ + “ and „ - “ buttons the desir ed temperatur es in the refriger ator can be adjusted. 0 1. Press either the „ + “ (W ARMER) or „ - “ (COLDER) button. The temperatur e display switches over and the DESIRED temperature currently set flashes on the temper atur e display .
818 19 27-00/8 19 Switching the Appliance off 0 1. To switch off, press the ON/OFF button until the mains power light extinguishes. Note: The appliance cannot be switched on or off if unplugged, or if there is no power being supplied to it.
20 818 19 27-00/8 Interior Fittings Stor age Shelves 0 1. A storage shelf must be inserted into the lower guide tr ack above the salad bin. It must always r emain in this position, so that fruits and veg- etables remain fr esh longer . The remaining stor age shelves can be adjusted to various heights: 0 1.

If the large divider is inserted in the middle of the bin the right hand side can be further divided by inserting the small divider in the middle or rear position. 3 The ventilation grille above the salad bin improves air cir culation so that groceries keep for longer .
22 818 19 27-00/8 Pr oper Stor age For physical reasons, the r efrigerator compartment has differ ent temperatur e zones. The coldest zone is on the lowest storage shelf immediately above the fruit and vegetable trays. Warmer zones ar e the upper storage shelves and door racks.
818 19 27-00/8 23 Hints and Tips Normal Oper ating Sounds • Y ou may hear faint gurgling or bubbling sounds when the r efrigerant is pumped through the coils or tubing at the rear , to the cooling plate/evaporator .
24 818 19 27-00/8 Defr osting The Fridge defr osts automatically The rear wa ll of the fridge covers with fr ost when the compre ssor is running, and defrosts when the compr essor is off.
Maintenance and Cleaning 818 19 27-00/8 25 Replacing the Light Bulb 1 Wa rni ng ! Danger of electrical shock! Befor e r eplacing the light bulb switch appliance off and remove the mains plug.
26 818 19 27-00/8 Something Not W orking Before conta cting your local Service Force Centr e, check the following points. Symptom Solution No power to the ap pliance. Check there is power at the socket Check there is not a power cut by checking the household lights.
818 19 27-00/8 27 If after the above checks there is still a fault, call your local AEG Service Force Centre. In-guarantee customer s should ensure that the above checks have been made as the engineer will make a charge if the fault is not a mechanical or electrical breakdown.

They have a relatively low boiling-point, indeed so low , that the warmth from the food stor ed in the fridge or freezer can cause the refriger ant to boil and vaporise.
