C H A P T E R 1 I NTRODUCTION Product Description The 2400LM is a medical display designed to pre sent information to the operator a nd the customer . The 2400LM is availa ble in seri al a nd USB(combo) touch interface a s well a s non-touch. The 2400LM functionally consists of a 24” LCD main display with a touchscreen.

T ouch Interfa ce Connection NOTE: Before connecting the ca bles to your touchmonitor a nd PC, be sure that the computer a nd touchmonitor are turned off. Re move the Ca ble Cover The ca ble s are connected at the ba ck of the monitor . T o remove the cover , gra sp the lip of the cover a nd pull towards you until it snaps.
STEP 1-Connecting the Video Cable • T ilt the screen up a nd back to a ccess the connection ports. • Connect the 15-pin video ca ble (the f errite bea d end) or 24-pin D VI-D ca ble to the video port on your PC. • Connect the other end of the video ca ble to the video connector on your touchmonitor .
STEP 2-Connecting the Serial a nd USB T ouchscreen Cable • Connect the fe male end of the seri al (RS-232) ca ble to the seri al port on your PC, or connect the USB( ) touchscreen cable to the USB( ) touchscreen connector on the back of your touchmonitor.
STEP 3-Connecting the Spe aker Ca ble • Connect the light blue end of the speaker ca ble to the light blue speaker port to the monitor (audio in). • Connect the li me (light green) end of the speaker ca ble to the lime speaker port on the computer (audio out).
STEP 4-Connecting the Power Cable Depending on where you live, you will use e ither the Europea n or US/Ca na d i a n power ca ble. • Connect the fe male end of the power ca ble to the medical gra de power a daptor . • Connect the brick power cable into the power port on the touchmonitor.
Re pla ce the Cable Cover Then you have atta ched all the ca bles to the monitor , gently bring all the ca bles toward the sta ndard so they fit under the cover lip. Re move the screw from a ccessory a nd insert the screw into ca ble cover . Snap the Ca ble cover in place over the connections.
Mounting the Display Your medically certified touchscreen display conforms to the VESA Flat Panel Monitor Physical Mounting Interface (FPMPMI) standard.
2-14 Rear Mounting Using the VESA Interface 1 If the display is alrea dy connected to a pedestal, remove the f our screws that connect the pedestal to the display (refer to Figure2-1 , item 1 ). Separate the pedestal from the display. 2 Reinstall the four screws into the VESA interface mount.
Optimizing the LCD Display T o ensure the LCD display works well with your computer, configure the display mode of your gra phic card to make it less tha n or equal to 1920 x 1200 resolution, a nd make sure the timing of the display mode is compatible with the LCD display .
In stalling the Serial T ouch Driver In stalling the Seri al T ouch Driver f or Windows 7, W indows V ista, Windows XP , Windows 2000, ME, 95/98 a nd NT4.0. NOTE: For W indows 2000 a nd NT4.0 you must have a dministrator a ccess rights to install the driver.
In stalling the Seri al T ouch Driver f or MS-DOS a nd Windows 3.1 Y ou must have a DOS mouse driver (MOUSE.COM) installed f or your mouse if you wish to continue using your mouse along with your touchmonitor in DOS.
In stalling the USB T ouch Driver In stalling the USB T ouch Driver f or W indows 7, Windows V ista, Windows XP , Windows 2000, ME and Windows 98. 1 Insert the Elo CD-ROM in your computer’s CD-ROM drive. If W indows 98 or W indows 2000 starts the Add New Hardware W izard, do the following: 2 Choose Next .
C H A P T E R 3 O PERA TION About T ouchmonitor Adjustments Y our touchmonitor will unlikely require a djustment. V ariations in video output a nd a pplication may require a djustments to your touchmonitor to optimize the quality of the display .

Controls and Adjustment OSD Menu Functions To Display and Select the OSD Functions: 1 Press the Menu key to activate the OSD menu. 2 Use or to move clockwise or counterclockwise through the menu. Press the select key on the monitor. The parameter will be highlighted when selected.
OSD Control Options Control Description Contrast Increases or decreases contrast. Brightness Increases or decreases brightness. V-Position Moves the screen up or down. H-Position Moves the screen left or right. Recall Defaults Returns the monitor to its default settings.

A P P E N D I X A N A TIVE R ESOLUTION The native resolution of a monitor is the re solution level at which the LCD pa nel is designed to perform best. For the Elo LCD touchmonitor, the native resolution is 1920 x 1200 for the WUXGA- 24 inch size. In almost all cases, screen images look best when viewed at their native resolution.
As a n example, a SV GA resolution LCD pa nel ha s 800 pixels horizontally by 600 pixels vertically . Input video is also represented by the same terms.
