INTRODUCTION Dear Customer , Thank you f or having chosen one of our products. W e hope that y ou will get com- plete satisf action from using y our new machine and that it will fully meet all y our e xpectations. This manual has been compiled in order that y ou ma y get to know y our machine and to be able to use it saf ely and efficiently .

1. SAFETY 1.1 HO W T O READ THE MANU AL This manual describes various v ersions of the machine, which mainly diff er in: – the inclusion of components or accessories which may not be a vailab le in some areas; – special equipment fitted.
1.2 SAFETY REGULA TIONS (read carefully bef ore using the machine) A) TRAINING 1) Read the instructions carefully . Be familiar with the controls and the pr oper use of the equipment. 2) Never allow c hildren or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine.

2. IDENTIFICA TION OF THE MA CHINE AND COMPONENTS 2.1 IDENTIFICA TION OF THE MACHINE The identification label located under the seat has the essential data of each machine. The serial number (7) must be quoted when you require technical assistance or spare par ts.
13. Collector channel: this is the part connecting the cutting deck to the grass- catcher . 14. Grass-catcher: as w ell as collecting the grass cuttings , this is also a safety element in that it stops any objects dra wn up by the blade from being thro wn outside of the machine.
3. UNP A CKING AND ASSEMBL Y The machine is supplied without engine oil or fuel. Bef ore star ting up the engine, fill with oil and fuel f ollowing the instructions given in paragr aph 5.3.3. and in the engine manual. F or storage and transport reasons, some components of the machine hav e to be assembled after their remo v al from the pac king.
3.3 FITTING THE SEA T 1. Fit the seat (1) onto the plate (2) using the screws (3). 3.4 FITTING THE BLADE ENGA GEMENT LEVER 1. Fit the end of the le v er (1) on the projecting par t of the pin (2) and fix it all by tightening the screw (3) and n ut (4).
3.6 FITTING THE GRASS-CA TCHER Identify the screws to be used b y following the dr a wing that shows them in their actual size . 1. Fit the upper frame (1) in the upper slots (2) of the can v as cov er (3); 2. join the two pieces of the frame (1) and (4) using the scre ws (5).
4. CONTROLS AND INSTR UMENTS 4.1. S TEERING WHEEL T ur ns the front wheels . 4.2 C LUTCH / BRAKE PED AL This pedal has a double function: dur ing the first par t of its tra v el it acts as a clutch, engaging and disengaging drive to the wheels , and in the second par t it works the brake .
two positions: «A» = Brak e off «B» = Brak e engaged – The brak e is engaged by pressing the pedal (4.3) right down and moving the le v er to position «B». When you take y our foot off the pedal it will be b lock ed by the le v er in the down position.
In the electric start models 4.11 K EY IGNITION SWITCH This ke y operated control has three positions: «OFF» e v er ything is s witched off; «ON» activ ates all par ts; «ST AR T» engages the star ter motor . On being released at the «ST AR T» position, the ke y will automatically retur n to «ON».
Then put the handle back in its seat, guiding the cable as it automatically rewinds . 4.22 A CCELERA TOR LEVEL It regulates the r pm and stops the engine.
EN 15 HO W TO USE THE MACHINE 5. HO W T O USE THE MA CHINE 5.1 SAFETY RECOMMEND A TIONS The machine m ust only be used f or the purpose for which it was designed (cutting and collection of grass). Do not tamper with or remove the saf ety devices fitted to the mac hine.
a) The engine must only be star ted in the f ollowing conditions: – the transmission is in “neutral”; – the blade is not engaged; – the operator is seated or the parking brak e is engaged.
EN 17 HO W TO USE THE MACHINE 5.3.3 F ILLING WITH OIL AND FUEL Refuelling should be carried out in an open or well-venti- lated area with engine stopped. Always remember that petr ol fumes are inflammable. DO NOT T AKE A NAKED FLAME T O THE T ANK’S OPENING IN ORDER TO SEE THE T ANK’S CONTENTS AND DO NOT SMOKE WHEN REFUELLING.
5.3.4 F ITTING THE PRO TECTIONS A T THE EXIT ( GRASS CA TCHER ) Never use the machine without having fitted the e xit protection! Hook the grass-catcher (1) onto the br ack ets (2) and centre it up with the rear plate, so that the two ref erence mar ks (3) coincide.
EN 19 HO W TO USE THE MACHINE 5.4 USING THE MA CHINE 5.4.1 S T ARTING THE ENGINE All starting operations have to be effected in an open or well-ventilated area! EN 21 HO W TO USE THE MACHINE 5.4.5 G RASS CUTTING The machine is not designed f or hea vy-duty use or f or mow- ing large quantities of grass . The blade is engaged b y means of a clutch device. T o avoid damage or premature wear of the friction elements, strictly obser v e the f ollow- ing instructions.

EN 23 HO W TO USE THE MACHINE 5.4.8 E ND OF MO WING When you ha ve finished mowing, disengage the b lade , low er the engine speed and ride the machine with the cutting deck in the highest position. 5.4.9 E ND OF WORK Once you ha ve finished mowing, stop the machine and engage the parking brak e.

EN 29 MAINTENANCE 6.2.3 E NGINE F ollow all the instructions in the engine man- ual. T o drain the engine oil: 1. unscrew the topping up cap (1); 2. fit the pipe (2) onto the syringe (3) and inser t it right into the hole; 3.

6.3.4 B RAKE ADJUSTMENT If the braking distance lengthens, the brak e will need adjusting. The adjustment will need to be made with the parking brake ENGA GED .
EN 33 MAINTENANCE 4. check that the spring (7) of the engagement cable is not too taut or too loose . Other- wise, turn the adjusting nut (8) until the spring reaches the r ight condition. 5. check the measurement of the spring (6) again; 6. refit the collector channel (1), and alwa ys put back the pin (2) and the split pin (3).
6.4.3 E LECTRIC AND PRO TECTION SYSTEM In the electric start models: The electric system and the electronic card are protected by a fuse . When it blows the machine stops, so in this case: 1. tighten the two scre ws (1) that f asten the bo x (2) containing the card, and hold up the lower part to prev ent it from falling; 2.
