3 I ntr oduc tion Thank you f or buying a Fisher & P aykel Aer otech® oven. Now that it is installed and re ady to use, y ou will want to k now ever ything about it to make sure you get ex cellent results right from the star t. This guide intr oduces you to all its f eatures, as well as g iving you a comprehensive set of cooking char ts.
4 Saf et y and warnings This symbol alerts you to hazards such as fir e, electrical shock , or other potential injuries. It also warns you of things tha t may cause damage to your o ven. Impor tant safety precautions Read all the instructions before using the ov en.
5 Use care when opening the o ven door . Let hot air or steam escape bef ore r emoving or replacing f ood. Do not heat unopened food containers . They can build up pressure that may cause the container to burst and result in injury . Always keep ov en vent ducts unobstruc ted.

7 Setting the clock As your o ven is connec ted to a po wer supply for the first time, a t one will sound and the clock display will light up . The clock display will show ‘0:00’ and the colon ( : ) will flash. Next, set the clock . Clock must be set befor e oven can be operated T o set the clock The oven clock has a default 24 hour display .
8 O ven displa ys Oven mode dial & display T urn clock wise to select your desired oven mode. When the mode is set, the lights and cooling fan will come on. T emperature dial & displa y T urn clock wise to select the oven temperature you want to cook at.
9 O ven modes Y our F isher & Paykel Aer o T ech® oven has nine cook ing modes plus W ARM and SELF CLEAN. These modes use differ ent combinations of elements and the convection fan to give you maximum flexibility when cook ing. TRUEAERO: con vection fan plus fan element TRUEAERO is a ver y flexible method of cook ing.
10 W ARM W ARM is a constant low heat of 165 °F (75 °C ). I t is ex cellent for keeping cooked food hot and warming plates and serving dishes. T o reheat f ood from cold, use TRUEAERO and change to W ARM only when the food is piping hot, as this mode will not bring cold food up to a t emperature high enough to kill any harmful bacteria.
11 SELF CLEAN This oven f eatures a pyrolytic self-cleaning c ycle that takes care of the mess and grime that is traditionally associated with oven cleaning . During self- clean cycles the oven reaches higher temperatur es than it does for cook ing and this burns off and breaks down soil and gr ease deposits.
12 Shelf positions Optilevel™ The Optilevel™ shelving system allows you t o choose the optimum cook ing level within the oven. Placing the shelv es on or bet ween the shelf support runners provides 13 cook ing positions to choose from. Organize the shelv es pr ior to heating the ov en.
13 Accessories Thr ee -piece broil/r oast system The three-piece broil/roast system (made up of the pan, g r id and rack) is designed to pr event hot fat and juices in the broil pan splattering throughout the ov en. All pieces can be used together as one complete unit, or in diff erent combinations.
14 Using the oven contr ols In double ovens controls on the left are for the upper ov en and controls on the right are for the lower ov en. Pushing the oven ca vit y selector button lets you toggle between the oven cavities, f or example if you are setting automatic pr ograms.
15 Aut omatic cook ing Aut omatic time cooking Automatic time (delay ed star t) cook ing will turn the oven on and off at times you have set. T o set automatic time cooking: 1 Check that the clock shows the cor rect time. 2 I n double ovens, choose the upper or low er oven.
16 During cook ing, A UTO , COOK TIME and the remaining cook time will show in the clock display . The oven mode and temperatur e displays will be br ight, and the oven light will be on. When the cook time is finished, the oven will beep and turn off .
17 O ven operation Cooking probe Use your cooking probe to accurately judge when your meat is per fectly cooked. The probe can be used on TRUEAER O , AEROBAKE, ROAST , AER OBROIL and BAKE modes. Using the co oking probe 1 Select the oven mode and temperature and preheat the oven if appr opr iate .
18 The cook ing probe can be used with aut omatic cook ing func tions. If the probe r eaches the set temperature bef ore the stop time is reached the pr obe will tur n the oven off . The internal temperature of the meat will continue to rise by 5-15 °F (2-8 °C) after you have remov ed it from the oven so allow f or this in your calculations.
19 Selecting the cook ing time for y our roast depends on y our personal pref erence. Meat taken straight from the r efr igerator will take longer to cook. P oultr y should always be well cooked with the juices running clear . Roasting is a method of cook ing meat that uses dr y heat.
20 Tips f or successful broiling P osition the oven shelves bef ore you turn the oven on. T o make cleaning the broil/roast system easier , spray the rack, grid and inside of the pan with a light coating of non-stick cook ing spray bef ore use.
21 Dehy drating, and proofing br ead Tips f or dehy d ra ting T o obtain a high quality dried product, selec t only unblemished, matur e fruit. W ash fruit thoroughly and pat dr y . Peel if desir ed. Unpeeled fruit will take longer to dr y . Remove stones , stems or pips if necessar y.
22 USER SELEC T options USER SELEC T mode USER SELEC T mode allows you to configure some of the settings displa yed on your Aero T ech® oven control panel .
23 Tips f or using Sabbath mode In double oven models, differ ent temperatures can be selected for upper and lower ovens by using their temperature dials .
24 How to change fr om 24 hour to 12 hour time display 1 Enter the USER SELEC T mode and turn the oven mode dial clockwise until appears in the display . 2 Pre s s PUSH TO CLEAR to select either ‘24H’ or ‘12H’ in the clock display . 3 P ress the button to activate.
25 Contr ol panel lock Locking the control panel disables all the buttons and dials which can be useful when cleaning oven sur faces or prev enting accidental bumps and unauthor ised use. The control panel can only be locked when the oven mode and temperature ar e OFF .

33 Roasting meat W e recommend you use the cooking probe to accurately judge when meat is cooked to your pref erence. ‘ Time per pound/450 g’ is a rough guide and should only be used to estimate when the meat will be ready . Cooking with R O AST , TRUEAER O , AEROBAKE, and AEROGRILL will take less time than with BAKE.
34 Cleaning Impor tant! Do not use harsh/abrasive cleaning agents, wax es, pumice cleaners, polishes or c ommercial oven cleaners t o clean your oven. Impor tant! If you choose to use a commer cial st.
35 Cleaning the porc elain enamelled sur faces The oven interior and inner door liners are por celain enamelled and are cleaned during the self- clean cycle. Impor tant! Do not use any oven cleaners, o ven cleaning products or abrasives on the porcelain enamel.
36 SELF CLEAN mode This oven f eatures a pyrolytic self-clean c ycle . During a self- clean cycle the oven reaches higher temperatur es than it does for cook ing and this burns off and breaks down soil and gr ease deposits. A smoke eliminator and active venting system remo ves and breaks down the smoke, fumes and odors.
37 Using the SELF CLEAN mode 1 Remove oven shelv es, shelf supports (see ‘Cleaning’) and all other cookware/utensils from the oven bef ore using the SELF CLEAN mode. 2 Select the SELF CLEAN mode by turning the oven mode dial. 3 T urn the temperature dial to its maximum position.
38 SELF CLEAN – delay ed star t Y our Aerotech® oven can be set to start a self- clean c ycle at your con venience: 1 Check that the clock shows the correct time. 2 Select the SELF CLEAN mode by turning the oven mode dial. 3 T urn the temperature dial to its maximum position.
39 T roubleshooting F ault codes If there is a fault, the oven will beep every second, and a fault code will appear in the clock display as a letter ‘F’ with a number after it. Impor tant! Do not turn off the main pow er supply to the oven if you get a fault c ode.
40 Oven door will not open. Oven door is locked. Still in SELF CLEAN mode. The door will unlock when the cycle has finished and the oven has cooled to a saf e temperature .
41 Maintenance How to change the o ven light bulbs The oven is illuminated b y three 12 volt/20 watt halogen bulbs. These have a ver y long lif e, but if you should need to r eplace one, follow these steps: 1 T urn the oven off and allow it to cool.
42 Limited warrant y When you purchase an y new F isher & P aykel whiteware product for personal or consumer use you automatically r eceive a two year limited warranty covering par ts and labor for ser vicing within the 48 mainland United States, Ha waii, W ashington DC and Canada.
43 This warranty does not cov er : A Ser vice calls that are not related t o any defect in the product. The cost of a ser vice call will be charged if the pr oblem is not found t o be a defect of the product. For example: 1. Correcting fault y installation of the product.
44 Commer cial use If you are using the product in a commercial setting (an y use other than a single family dwelling), we ag ree to repair or r eplace, without cost to you f or par ts only , any def ec tive par ts, the serial number of which appears on the product.
