7 Battery Charging E W ARNING • Batter y can f all out and injure a child if vehicle tips o ver . Alwa ys use batter y clamp . • PREVENT FIRE - Ne ver modify the electrical system. Alterations could cause a fire resulting in serious injur y and could also ruin the electrical system.
8 Battery Charging IMPORT ANT! • Y our new battery must be c harged for at least 18 hours bef ore you use it in y our vehicle f or the first time. • We recommend that y ou star t charging your battery bef ore beginning assembly of y our new v ehicle.
9 Ta b Assembl y • Make sure that the three holes in the running board are aligned with the three holes in the vehicle body and that the flat side of the running board tab contacts the underside of the vehicle body (see inset). • Inser t three #8 x 3 / 4 " screws through the holes in the v ehicle body and into the running board.
10 Assembl y • Press fir mly abo ve one of the rear tabs to snap it into the slot in the vehicle body . IMPORT ANT! While snapping the rear tab into the slot, push on the side of the cab to pre v ent it from bowing. Make sure that the cab side tabs sta y aligned in the v ehicle slots.
11 Assembl y • Bend the plastic tip of the microphone cord so that it fo r ms a "T". • Fit the plastic tip at the end of the microphone cord through the small ov al hole in the dash. Pull up gently on the microphone cord to make sure the plastic tip is secure under the dash.
12 Assembl y Upper Steering Linkage F ront Axle Assembly Large Hole in Dash Steering Column Hole Cur v ed End of Steering Column •F rom the underside of the v ehicle body , fit the cur ved end of the steering column into the hole in the upper steering linkage.
13 Assembl y • Fit one of the side tabs on the hood into the slot in the v ehicle body . • While bending the hood slightly , fit the other side tab into the corresponding slot on the vehicle body . Hood Side Ta b Side Ta b Slot • Fit the tabs on the batter y clamp cap into the slots in the batter y clamp unit.
14 Assembl y Cab Hole Antenna • Fit the tapered end of the antenna into the hole in the front of the cab . • Press firmly to snap the antenna into the hole.
15 Assembl y • Once you ha ve selected the appropriate seat position and inser ted the seat tabs into the slots in the v ehicle body , align the holes in the back of the seat with the holes in the vehicle body . •I nser t three #8 x 3 / 4 " screws through the holes in the seat and into the vehicle body .
16 Label Decoration G Proper label application will help to keep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the f ollo wing guidelines in mind: •W ash y our hands bef ore applying the labels. • Bef ore applying the labels, wipe the surf ace of the v ehicle with a clean, dry cloth to remov e any dust or oils.
17 Label Decoration One-time assembly is no w complete . IMPORT ANT! • Please carefully read the owner’ s inf or mation in this manual and teach y our child about proper vehicle operation and r ules f or saf e driving before allo wing operation of this v ehicle.
18 Battery Installation H IMPORT ANT! Use only a P ower Wheels ® 12 v olt batter y . Use of any other battery will damage your v ehicle. Make sure that you charge the battery for at least 18 hours using the enclosed P ower Wheels ® 12 v olt charger bef ore operating y our vehicle f or the first time.
19 Battery Care and Disposal I If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf ormation below for proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or eyes, flush with cool w ater f or at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.
20 Rules f or Safe Driving J T eac h Safety Rules to Children While children can quickly de velop the skill necessary to drive this v ehicle, it is impor tant to remember that their judgment skills are still very immature. Unsuper vised driving by children can lead to serious injur y .
21 Ho w to Operate Y our V ehicle K • Make sure the shifter is in the lo w speed position . • Press down on the f oot pedal . The v ehicle goes f orward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph . • Help your child pr actice steering to lear n how f ar and how quickly to turn the steering wheel when dr iving f orward in low speed.
22 To Drive Caring For Y our V ehic le L Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive • Check all scre ws, cap nuts and protectiv e coverings regularly and tighten as required. Chec k plastic par ts on a regular basis f or crac ks or broken pieces . • During snowy or rainy w eather , the vehicle should be stored inside or under a protective co ver .

24 Pr oblems and Solutions Guide V ehicle was running but Loose wire or loose connectors Check all wir es and connectors. Make sure the motor suddenly stopped harness connector is plugged into the batter y , and that there ar e no loose wires ar ound the motors.
25 Pr oblems and Solutions Guide Problem Possible Cause Solution V ehicle runs sluggishly Undercharged battery Charge the batter y . A new batter y should have been charged for at least 18 hours before using the vehicle for the first time. After first-time use, recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use.
