Battery Charging E Important Notes: • Y our new batteries must be charged for at least 18 hours before you use them in your vehicle for the first time. • We recommend that y ou star t charging your batteries bef ore beginning assembly of y our new v ehicle.
Battery Charging 8 1 • Install a thermal fuse in each batter y: - P eel the backing from the underside of the plastic thermal fuse casing and discard the backing. - Inser t the ther mal fuse, prong side down, into the batter y . Make sure the prongs are fully inser ted into the batter y .
Assembly 9 3 • P osition the v ehicle body upside down. Note: The mudflaps are marked “R” and “L ” to designate right and left. • With the “R” marking facing up , align the two round holes in the right mudflap with the pegs on the underside of the right fender .
• Slide a washer onto one of the front axles. • Slide a round bushing, ring side first, onto the same front axle. • Slide a wheel (ribbed side first) onto the front axle. • Slide a hubcap onto the front axle. •Slide a he x bushing onto the front axle .
TM 11 Assembly • Press the tab under the back of the seat and lift to remov e the seat. • Fit the rectangular opening in the cowling ov er the shifter handle. • Align the front, side and rear tabs on the cowling with the slots in the v ehicle body but do not snap the tabs into the slots.
• Lift the front end of the vehicle . • Slide the straight end of the steering column through the hole in the upper steering linkage and out through the hole in the v ehicle body . • Inser t the cur ved end of the steering column into the hole in the low er steering linkage.
13 Assembly Steering Column Handlebar Neck Rib Groov e Sound Bo x Handlebar Housing - Bottom Half • Slide the bottom half of the handlebar housing onto the end of the steering column. Make sure the rim on the bottom of the handlebar housing fits into the hole in the v ehicle body .
Assembly • Fit the front fairing onto the handlebar assemb ly . Make sure that the screw tabs on the handlebar assemb ly are aligned with the screw pegs on the front f air ing. • Inser t four #8 x 3 / 4 " scre ws through the top half of the handlebar housing and into the front f airing and tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver .

If a battery leak develops, av oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged batter y in a plastic bag. See inf or mation below f or proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or ey es, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a physician.
10° Incline should never be more than 10° 5. Do not operate this v ehicle with more than one rider , seated on the seating area. A child who is not sitting on the seat or who is standing on the v ehicle could fall off , cause a tip-ov er or bloc k the driver’ s view .
• Make sure the shifter is in the LO W SPEED position. • Press the foot pedal. The vehicle will drive f orward at a maximum of 2 1 / 2 mph. • Help your child practice steering to learn how f ar and how quic kly to tur n the handlebar when driving forw ard in low speed.
21 Adv anced Use - High Speed Drive Bef ore you disconnect the high speed loc k-out, make sure your child kno ws how to start and stop the vehicle and knows the rules f or safe driving. When the high speed lock-out is disengaged, the v ehicle can be dr iven f orward in low speed (2 1 / 2 mph, maximum) or high speed (5 mph, maximum).
Problem Possible Cause Solution V ehicle does not run Undercharged batteries Charge the batteries. New batteries should hav e been charged for at least 18 hours bef ore using the v ehicle for the first time. After first-time use, recharge the batteries for at least 14 hours after each use.
T ripped ther mal fuse A thermal fuse may "trip" and shut down operation of the vehicle if the v ehicle is ov erloaded or the dr iving conditions too sev ere. The fuse will automatically reset itself after approximately 25 seconds , allowing the v ehicle to resume normal operation.
V ehicle runs sluggishly Batteries need charging After approximately 3 hours of constant use , the batteries need charging. Wrong type or improperly installed fuses Make sure that the batteries hav e properly installed P o wer Wheels ® thermal fuses installed before charging.
