Impor tant Notes: • Your new battery m ust be charged f or at least 18 hours bef ore you use it in y our vehicle f or the first time. • We recommend that y ou star t charging y our batter y before beginning assembly of y our new v ehicle.
Battery Charging 8 ® WARNING PREVENT FIRE • Do not bypass a Power Wheel • Use only a Red Power Wheels • Never modify the electrical OR OPERATE 1 • Plug the charger and batter y connectors together . Push firmly to snap the two connectors together .
Assembly F 1 • Fit the cov er plate ov er the opening above the louv ers in the front of the v ehicle body . • Inser t two # 8 x 1 / 2 " scre ws through the cover plate and into the v ehicle body . • Tighten the screws with a Phillips scre wdriver .
5 • Fit a cap nut on the end of the rear axle. • T ap the cap nut with a hammer to secure it on the end of the rear axle. • Pull on the wheel to make sure the cap nut is securely f astened. • Repeat this procedure to assemble the other rear wheel to the other rear axle.
• Slide a hex b ushing onto the front axle. The ring side of the he x bushing should f ace out. • Press fir mly to fit all but the ring on the end of the he x bushing into the front wheel. F ront Axle He x Bushing Ring Side 9 • Fit a cap nut on the end of the front axle.
TM 15 • Wipe the steering column with a paper towel to remov e e xcess lubricant. • Slide the straight end of the steering column through the hole in the low er steering linkage and out through the hole in the v ehicle body . • Inser t the cur ved end of the steering column into the hole in the upper steering linkage.
Assembly TM 17 Handlebar Steering Column Cap Nut • Fit a cap nut on the end of the steering column. • T ap the cap nut with a hammer to secure it on the end of the steering column. • Pull up on the handlebar to make sure the assemb ly is secure.
Assembly 21 Rear View Shock Half - Small Shock Half - Large Rear Suppor t End Cap • Fit the large half of one shock set against one of the rear suppor ts. Make sure the end of the large shoc k half fits into the end cap at the bottom of the suppor t.
Label Decoration Proper label application will help to k eep the labels looking their best! When applying labels, keep the f ollowing guidelines in mind: • W ash your hands bef ore applying the labels. • Before applying the labels , wipe the surface of the v ehicle with a clean, dr y cloth to remove an y dust or oils.
Batter y Installation Important Note: Use only a P ower Wheels ® 6 volt battery with an A-style connector and b uilt-in ther mal fuse. Use of any other battery may damage y our vehicle.
17 Batter y Care and Disposal I Care If a battery leak develops, a v oid contact with the leaking acid and place the damaged battery in a plastic bag. See inf or mation below f or proper disposal. If acid comes in contact with skin or ey es, flush with cool water f or at least 15 minutes and call a ph ysician.
Rules for Safe Driving 10° Incline should never be more than 10° 5. Do not operate this v ehicle with more than one rider , seated on the seating area. A child who is not sitting on the seat or who is standing on the vehicle could f all off, cause a tip-ov er or block the driv er’ s view .
FWD REV As assembled, y our vehicle is ready to roll (3 1 / 2 mph, maximum). • Push the top button on the FOR W ARD/REVERSE switch to set the vehicle to driv e f orward.
Problem Possible Cause Solution V ehicle does not run Undercharged battery Charge the battery . A new battery should have been charged for at least 18 hours before using the vehicle for the first time. After first-time use, recharge the battery for at least 14 hours after each use.
V ehicle was running but Loose wire or loose connectors Check all wir es and connectors. Make sure the battery suddenly stopped connector is tightly plugged into the motor harness connector , and that there are no loose wires ar ound the motors.
