default is Range 4. The choices for high range are Range 6 through Range 11, or None. The default is Range 8. • If the type selected is Polynomial, the order of the polynomial is required. The order is selectable from 3rd to 9th order. The default for platinum probes is 4th order .
Note : The accepted thermistor model is based upon the lo garithmic resis - tance-temperatur e characteristic in terms of absolute temperatur e (K el - vin). The accuracy of a model based upon °F or °C has not been tested. Ther efor e, T ableW are always calculates polynomial coeff icients for therm - istor pr obes using Kelvin.
Dialog information The type of coef ficient choices are: B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T , and Gold-Platinum. The default is T ype K. The temperature range is dependent on the thermocouple t ype. Thermocouple Requirements are e xplained in Section 3.7.5. The Continue b utton displays the Ra w Data dialog for Thermocouple coeff icients.
Enabled and disabled The Calculate button is not enabled un til the required data is entered and the scales are selected. Dialog information The user must select the Reference S cale and UUT Scale and enter Reference T emperatures and UUT Resistances for t he Triple Point of W ater , Low Range, and High Range, as applicable.
Callendar-V an Dusen (CVD), or IPTS-68 is selected as the type of coef ficients to calculate or from the Thermistor Probe Coeff icients dialog. Enabled and disabled The Calculate button is not enabled un til the required data is entered and the scales are selected.
3.8, Methods Used for Calculating Coe f ficients, contains additional information. The Import button reads raw data in from an ASCII text file. The data must be stored in the te xt file in the format required for calculating Polynomi al, CVD, or IPTS-68 coeff icients.
3.3.3 Thermocouple coefficients This Ra w Data dialog (Fi gure 15) is displayed when t he Continue b utton is se - lected from the Thermocouple Probe Coef fi cients dialog. Enabled and disabled The Calculate button is not enabled un til the required data is entered and the scales are selected.
Note: If CJC r eadings are enter ed in temperatur e, the standard thermo - couple coeff icients for the selected thermocouple type ar e used to calcu - late the voltage at eac h r eading. The calculated voltages ar e then added to each corr esponding UUT r eading before calculating c haracterization co - eff icients for the UUT .
Note: The International Settings must be set according to the information in the Installation section before attempting to import or export r aw data. For ITS-90 coeff icients, the file must follow the format outlined in Figure 16. A comma “, ” should only be used to separate two distinct v alues.
Example: ASCII te xt f ile for ITS-90 (both lo w and high range) coeff icients. 0.010 100.025 –100.00,-38.843 59.2564,83.2587 156.6056,232.0110,419.4314, 660.4325 160.2546, 88.6534,256.1023,356. 1245 Example: ASCII te xt file for ITS-90 (lo w r ange only) coef ficients.
