U se the A SCENE POSITION option in the shooting menu t o choose the scene as- signed t o the SP p os ition on the mode dial.

T he camera zooms all the w a y out and remains fixed at the widest angle until shooting i s complet e. 1 T o select the angle thr ough which you will pan the camera whi le shoot ing, press the selector down.

The camera may in som e cases record a gre ater or lesser angle than selec ted or be unable to stitch the fram es together p erfe ctly. 36 Intel ligent F ace Detection Int elligen t F ace Detection al lows the camera t o aut omatica lly detec t huma n face s and set focus and exposure for a face anywhere in the frame for shots that emphas ize por trait subjec ts.

If the camer a is unable to focus u sing autofocus, use focus lock ( P 38) t o focus on another subjec t at the sam e distance and then recompose the photograph.
40 F Macro and S uper Macro Modes ( C lose- ups ) For close-ups, pres s the selec tor left ( F ) to choose from the macr o options sho wn b elow . Choose from F ( macro mode) , G ( super macro mode) , or OFF ( macro mode of f ) When macro mo de is in effe ct, the camera focuses on subjects near the cent er of the f rame.
