38 39 Advanced Features 3 38 T AKING PICTURES — SELECTING THE CAMERA SETTINGS PHOTOGRAPHY FUNCTIONS Specify the camera settings for taking pictures to get the best result. A general guide is given below. 1 Select the Photography mode ( ➡ P .40-44).

42 43 Advanced Features 3 42 M SHUTTER-PRIORITY AUTO PHOTOGRAPHY FUNCTIONS Set the Mode dial to “ M ”. This is an automatic mode to set the shutter speed. Use this mode to freeze a moving subject (fast shutter speed) or convey the impression of movement (slow shutter speed).

66 67 Advanced Features 3 Beep 2 Hold a piece of white paper under the light source for setting the white balance, so that it fills the entire screen. Then press the shutter button to set the white balance.

129 Notes on the Media ■ Image Memory Card h This Image Memory Card is a new image recording media ( xD-Picture Card ) developed for digital cameras. The Image Memory Card consists of a semiconductor memory (NAND-type flash memory) to record digital image data.
An attempt was made to specify DPOF settings for an image that is not supported by DPOF. DPOF printing cannot be used with this image format.
