1 1. MOUNTING NO TICE Do not apply paint, anti-corr osive sealant or contact spray to coating or plastic parts of the equipment. Those items contain organic solv ents that can damage coating and plastic par ts, especially plastic connectors. 1.1 A ntenna Unit s 1.

3 1.1.2 VHF antenna Location The location of the mandatory AIS VHF-antenna should be caref ully considered. Digital c ommunication is more sensit ive than analog/v oice communication to interference created by reflect ions in obstructions like mast s and booms.

8 1.2 Monitor Unit The monitor unit can be installed on a desktop or flus h mounted in a panel. Inst all it on the chart t able or near the steering plac e, referring to the outlin e drawing. When selecting a moun ting location for the monitor unit, keep the following in mind: • Keep the unit out of direct sunlight.

12 2. WIRING 2.1 Connec tion Connect the equ ipment , referring to the int erconnection diagram at the back this manual.
