1-1 1. MOUNTING THE EQ UIPMENT 1.1 Mounting the Hull Unit Note1) The rise/lower control box of the hull unit cont ains mot ion sensor . Theref ore, never drop the hull unit. Note2) T ake care the handling of the transducer . Do not give a strong shock.

1-3 1.1.2 Shor tening the re tr acti on tank The retract ion t ank is 1300 mm in length when supplied. Shorten the t ank as necessary so that the transducer is placed well below the keel when it is fully lowe red. The following table provides guidelines for shortening t he t ank.
1-4 1.1.3 Remarks for installation of retraction tank 1. Make, if possible, t he inst allation location a double bottom struct ure. 2. Install, if possible, the tank on t he keel where the tank can be m ost f irmly fixed.
1-5 1.1.4 Installing hull uni t on r etracti on tank After welding the retract ion tank and allowing sufficient t ime for cooling, install the hull unit as f ollows. 1. Clean t he hull unit f lange, t he O-ring and O-ring groove. Coat t hem with a slight amount of grease .

1-7 1.1.5 Installing stays (anti-vibration measure) Install stays f rom t he top of t he hull unit to the ship’s hull. The stays should be angle iron with a siz e of 75X75X9 m m or m ore and at least two pieces should be used; one each to ship’s bow and stern directions.

1-9 Mounting pr ocedure 1. Unf asten two bolts from t he bottom of t he front side of the processor unit, and pull the unit toward you to separate the unit f rom the m ounting base. 2. Fasten six bolts (M6x20, supplied as installation m aterial) to install t he m ount ing base.
1-10 Mounting pr ocedure 1. Drill four holes of 12 m m in diam eter in the m ounting locat ion, referring to t he outline drawing for m ounting dim ensions. 2. Unfasten t wo M4X10 screw s to dism ount the f r ont cover . 3. Unfasten t wo sets of M10 bolts , plain w ashers and spring washers to separate the m onitor f rom the m ount ing base.
1-11 Attaching the CR T filter 1. Attach two spacer (5x2.5, supplied) w ith screws (M 5x10, supplied) to the location shown below . 2. Screw two hood retainer (supplied) into the f ilt er (supplied). 3. T urn tw o washers ( Ф 12, supplied) into two hood retainer attached at step 2.
1-12 (2) Fixing without KB fix ing plate 1) Drill four m ounting holes of 6 m m diam eter to f asten the control unit , referring t o t he out line draw ing at the back of this m anual. 2) Make a cutout in the m ounting location large enough t o accomm odate t he nam e plat e so the control unit will lie flat.

1-14 1.3 Mounting the T ransceiver Unit The transceiver unit should be m ounted on a m ounting base (shipyard supply) whose dimensions are as shown in the outline draw ing of t he transceiver unit at the back of t his manual. The transceiver unit should be reinf orced against vibration by stays extending from the eyebolts on t he t op of the unit .
1-15 1.5 Grounding th e Equipment The power supply unit, processor unit and hull unit have protective groundin g. Ground the units w ith a ground wire (IV -8SQ, local supply) or copper strap t o prevent electrical shock .
1-16 Procedur e 1. Clean the hull unit f lange, O-ring and O-ring groove. Coat them with a slight amount grease. 2. (1200 mm stroke) Use 24 hex. bolts, 48 hex nuts, flat washers and spring washers to f asten the attachment f lange to retraction tank. (1600 mm stroke) 24 bolts have alread y been fitt ed.

3-1 3. ADJUSTMENT AND CHECK 3.1 Hull Unit Check Note: Bef ore conducting this check (at the dry dock) transm ission must be stopped. Defaul t setting o f TX trans mission is OFF . Con firm as follow s. 1. Turn on the power , and then press the [MENU] key to sho w the main menu.

3-3 How to chec k the hul l unit 1. Press the PO W ER ( | ) switch on the control unit (f or the display unit) to turn on the equipm ent. Conf irm t hat the lam ps above the ON and switches light. T r ansducer swit ches 2. Conf irm that the 5V and UP lamps on t he raise/lowe r control box are lit.
3-4 8. Check t hat LEDs on the panel of t he raise/lower control box light as follows: a) UP , MD and DN LEDs light when corresponding lim it switch is kicked. b) UP and DOW N LEDs light while UP and DOW N switches are pressed and extinguish when switches are released.

4-1 4. CONNECTING THE EXTERNAL INTERF ACE CS-120A W hen upgrading from the CSH-20 series sona r , the External I nterface CS-120A can be used. Connect between the proce ssor unit and the CS-120A as sho wn below . Ho wever , w e recomm end to connect external device to processor unit , instead of using the CS-120A, to avoid signa l delay .
