Y ou can use aluminum foil to line the broiler pan and broiler grid. However , you must mold the foil tightly to the grid and cut slits in it just like the grid.

15 Using the self-cleaning oven. www .GEAppliances.com Before a Clean Cycle W e recommend venting your kitchen with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood during the first self-clean cycle. Remove the shelves, broiler pan, broiler grid, all cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven.
16 How to Delay the Start of Cleaning Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day . Latch the door . T ouch the SELF CLEAN pad. Using the + or – pads, enter the desired clean time. The Clean T ime is normally 4 hours. Y ou can change the Clean T ime to any time between 3 and 5 hours, depending on the amount of soil in your oven.

The door is very heavy . Be careful when removing and lifting the door . T o remove the door: Fully open the door . Pull the hinge locks down toward the door frame, to the unlocked position. A tool, such as a small flat-blade screwdriver , may be required.
20 Consumer Support T roubleshooting T ips Care and Cleaning Operating Instructions Safety Instructions Care and cleaning of the range. Broiler Pan and Grid Do not clean the broiler pan or grid in a self- cleaning oven. After broiling, remove the broiler pan from the oven.
Clean the area under the cooktop often. Built-up soil, especially grease, may catch fire. T o make cleaning easier , the entire cooktop may be lifted up and supported in the up position. Be sure all the sur face units are turned off before raising the cooktop.
