5 COOKTOP USE Electric igniters automa t ically light the sur face burners when contr ol knobs are turned to IGNITE. Befor e setting a contr o l kn ob, place filled co okware on the grate. Do not operate a bur ner using empty cookwar e or without cookwar e on the grate.
6 T o C lean: IMPOR T ANT : Before cleanin g, make sure all c ontro ls are o ff an d the oven and cooktop are cool . Do not use oven cleaners, bleach or ru st removers . 1. Remove the bur ner ca p fr om the burner ba se and clean according to “General C leaning” section.
7 P ositioning Racks and Bakeware IMPOR T ANT : T o avoid permanent damage to the porcelain finish, do not place food or bakewar e directly on the oven door or bottom. Bakeware T o cook food evenly , hot air must be able to circula te. Allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakewar e and oven walls.
8 RANGE CARE Self-C leaning Cycle IMPOR T ANT : T he health of some birds is extrem ely sensitive to the fumes given off during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Exposur e to the fumes may result i n death to certain birds. Al ways move birds to another closed and well-ventilated room.
9 PORCELAIN- COA TED G RA TES AND CAPS Food spills containing acids, such as vinegar and tomato, shou ld be cleaned as soon as the cooktop, grates and caps are cool. These spills may affect the finish. T o avoid chipping, do not bang grates and caps against each oth er or hard surfaces such as cast iron cookware.
