5 COOKTOP USE The contr ol knobs can be set to anywher e between HI and LO. Push in and turn to setting. Ceramic Glass (on some models) The surface cooking ar ea will glow red when an element is on. It may cycle on and off to maintain the selected heat l evel.
6 OVEN USE Odors and smoke are norm al when the oven is used the first few times, or when it is heavily soiled. IMPOR T ANT : The health of some bir ds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off. Exposure to the fu mes may result in deat h to certain birds.
7 Sabbat h Mode (on so me models) The Sa bbath Mo de sets the oven t o r emain on in a Bak e settin g until turned off. A Timed Bake can also be set to kee p the oven on for only part of the Sabbath. The Oven Contro l Lockout Feature (if present) will be disabled duri ng the Sabbath Mode.
8 Alum inum F oil IMPOR T ANT : T o avoid permanent da mage to the o ven bottom finish, do not line the oven bottom with any type of foil or liner . For best cooking r esults, do not cover entire oven rack with foil because air must be able to move freely .
9 Broi ling Broiling uses direct r adiant heat to cook food. Changing the temperature when Custom Broiling allows more precise control when cooking. The lower the temperatur e, the slower the cooking. Thicker cu ts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and poultry may cook better at lower broiling temperatures.
