4 The Anti-Tip Brack et The range will not tip during normal use. However , the range can ti p if you apply too much force or weight to the open door wit hout the anti-tip bracket f astened down prop erly . Tip Over Hazard A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.
5 BATTER Y USE Installing/Replacing the Batter y * NOTE: Metal battery top is includ ed in the bag con taining literature. T o install or replace the 9V DC alkaline battery , follow the steps below . 1. Open the br oiler door . 2. Remove broile r pan an d grill from broiler .
6 5. Replace the battery holder i n the plastic battery box with the battery facing the bottom and the blue wires facing up, and close the plastic battery box. 6. Reinstall the metal battery top and secure it with the screw . IMPORT ANT : Do not operat e bake burn er without the metal battery top installed and secured.

8 COOKTOP USE Cooktop/Ov en T emperature Contr ols Electric igniters aut omatically light the surf ace burn ers when control knobs are turned to LITE. Before setting a control knob, place filled cookware on the grate. Do not operate a burner using empty cookware or without cookware on the grate.
9 Gas tube openin g: Gas must fl ow freely throughout the gas tube opening for the bur ner to light properly . Keep this area free of soil and do not allow spills, food, cleaning agents or any other material to enter the gas tube open ing. Keep spillovers out of the gas tube by always using a burner cap.
10 OVE N U S E Odors and smoke ar e normal when the oven is used the first few times, or when it is heavily soiled. IMPORT ANT : The health of some birds is ex tremely sensitive to the fumes given off. Exposure to the fumes may result in death to certain birds.
11 Baking and Roasting IMPORT ANT : T o avoid damage to the interior finish, do not place food or cookwar e directly on the oven door or the oven bottom. Before baking and roasting, position the racks accor ding to the “Positioning Racks and Bakeware” section.
12 RANGE CARE Remo ving the Oven Bottom The oven bottom can be r emoved for standa rd cleaning of the oven. Befor e cleaning, make sure the oven is completely cool. To R e m o v e : 1. Remove the oven racks. 2. Place fingers in the slots in the bottom panel.
13 OVEN CA VITY Food spills should be cleaned when oven cools. At high temperatures, foods r eact with po rcelain and staining, etchin g, pitting or faint white spots can r esult. On some m odels, the oven d oor can be removed. See the “Ove n Door” section first.
