The cooling fan When the top oven and grill are in use, you will hear the cooling fan come on. This keeps the fascia, con- trol knobs and components cool dur- ing cooking. The cooling fan may also operate when the main oven is used. The cooling fan may continue to oper- ate for a period of time after the con- trols have been switched off.
4 When you are cooking, keep children away from the vicinity of the appliance. This product is designed as a domestic cooking appliance for the preparation an d c o ok i n g of d o me s t ic f o o d products, and should not be used for any other purpose.

6 Using the hotplate • Co m m er c i al si m m er i ng a id s should not be used as they create excessive temperatures that can damage the surface and may cause a hazard. • Do not place aluminium foil or plastic utensils on the ceramic glass, as they may melt and damage the surface.
To save energy • Always position pans centrally over the heating area. • Put l ids on s au cep ans an d onl y heat the amount of liquid you need. • When l iqui ds boi l, red uce th e co ntr ol se tti ng to m ain tai n a sim mer . • Consider the use of a pressure co o k er f o r t he c o ok i n g of a complete meal.
Type and size of pan • Cast iron, stainless steel, or en ame lle d ste el pa ns ar e all s uit abl e for use on ceramic glass hobs. • Aluminium pans will give good cooking results but care must be taken in their use. If they are slid across the surface of the hob they tend to leave visible marks which can be difficult to remove.
Caution: Accessible parts may be hot when the grill is used, young children should be kept away. Detachable grill pan handle Place the handle over the edge of the grill pan, at the narrow side edges. Slide the handle to the centre, and locate between the handle position indicators.
10 USING THE GRILL Using the grill Caution: Accessible parts may be hot when the grill is used, young children should be kept away. The top oven grill has 3 heat settings as follows:- Preheating For best results, preheat the grill for 3 - 5 minutes. To switch on the grill Open the top oven / grill door.
When you are cooking keep children away from the vicinity of the oven. Caution: T he t o p el e m en t g et s extremely hot when in use, so take extra care to avoid touching it. The top oven is a conventional oven Note: The top oven is not controlled by the programmer.

Accessible parts may be hot when the oven is used. Young children should be kept away. To switch on the oven Turn the oven control knob clockwise to the required setting.
Oven furniture Oven shelves The oven shelf must be positioned with the upstand at the rear of the oven and facing upwards. Cooking with a fanned oven As this is a high efficiency oven, you may notice the emission of steam from the oven when the door is opened. Please take care when opening the door.
Defrosting and cooling in the main oven To defrost frozen foods, turn the ma i n o ve n c o nt r ol t o t h e de f r os t position, place the food in the centre of the oven and close the door. To cool foods after cooking prior to refrigerating or freezing, turn the ma i n o ve n c o nt r ol t o t h e de f r os t position and open the door.
MAIN OVEN CONVERSION GUIDE Note: this is a high efficiency oven, therefore some adjustment will have to be made to conventional cooking temperatures. The table below shows convention- al cooking temperatures, ‘A’ efficiency temperatures and gas marks.

Traditional fruit cakes It should be remembered that ovens can vary over time, therefore cooking times can vary, making it difficult to be precise when baking fruit cakes. It is necessary therefore, to test the cake before removal from the oven. Use a fine warmed skewer inserted into the centre of the cake.
Using the Ovens Roasting guide The times given in the roasting guide are only approximate, because the size and age of the bird will influence cooking times as will the shape of a joint and the proportion of the bone. Frozen meat should be thoroughly thawed before cooking.
Automatic cooking Th e a u to m a ti c c oo k i ng f a c il i ty i s controlled by the programmer (see ‘Programmer / Clock’ section) and allows complete meals or individual dishes to be cooked while you are out of the house, to be ready for when you return.
22 Important: Food is more susceptible to the growth of food poisoning organisms in warm conditions. If the weather is hot, either take care to ensure that food is not left standing in a warm oven, or avoid using the automatic cooking facility.
23 PROGRAMMER / CLOCK The programmer button Your timer should have symbols like the ones in the table below. It may also be either TOUCH control or have buttons. The ‘function’ button in the centre is used for setting the minute minder and setting up the automatic cooking.
24 PROGRAMMER / CLOCK To set the time of day Press the Up and Down buttons together for a few seconds, and release. The ‘ ’ in between the numbers on the LED Display will begin to flash. While the ‘ ’ is flashing it is possi- ble to adjust the time using the Up and Down buttons.
25 PROGRAMMER / CLOCK Se mi -a ut om at ic c ook in g There are two types of semi automatic cooking available on this appliance. The oven must be switched on, and in use to use either of these functions successfully. The Duration method allows you to set the oven for a specific length of time.

The LED display will flash the word ‘dur’, (2) and the ‘A’ will flash on the left hand side of the display.
27 PROGRAMMER / CLOCK 7 8 9 10 11 12 Fully automatic cooking (example) This programming method is best suit- ed for when a delayed start time is required. Unlike the semi automatic methods this requires both the dura- tion and the end time to be entered.
Caution: Any cleaning agent used incorrectly may damage the appliance. Always let the appliance cool before cleaning. Do not use a steam cleaner on this appliance.
Glass parts FACIA PANEL , DOOR PANELS Use a mild cream cleaner - eg; “Cif”. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. Important: The inne r door glass panel(s) can be removed for cleaning, but they must be replaced the right way (so the reflective side faces inwards) and also pushed fully in to the stop position.
Cleaning the hob Ceramic glass surface Do not use abrasive powder cleaners, “Brillo” pads, metal wire, detergents, b l e a c h e s , b a t h s t a i n r e mo v e r s , o r c h e m i c a l oven cleaners; all these product types will damage the ceramic glass.
Whilst every care is taken to eliminate burrs a nd raw edges f rom thi s prod uct, please take care when handling - we r ec o mm e n d th e u se o f p r ot e c ti v e gloves during installation. Moving the cooker Please note that the weight of this appliance is approximately 60 kg (unpa cked).
