Excalibur SE This section of the manual describes the Excalibur SE program operating procedures. The Excalibur SE program provides the primary user interface for control and operation of the connected Matrix Switching Systems.
SYSTEM SECURITY Excalibur SE is designed for security operations. It incorporates features to minimize the possibility that the system can be misused. These features include operator login/logout and access privileges/restrictions.
EXCALIBUR SE PROGRAM Excalibur SE is a user interface program for AD Matrix Switchers. It allows the operator to call and control cameras and monitors of the switching system. To start Excalibur SE, open its icon from the Excalibur SE Program Group window.
AD Keyboard The “AD Keyboard” menu function brings up a keyboard dialog box that operates like an American Dynamics model 2078 keyboard. This on-screen keyboard may be used in the same manner as the AD keyboard to control the Matrix Switching System.
2-5 EXCALIBUR SE Preset The lower right section of the keyboard provides several special keyboard buttons. Set - This button saves a preset scene for a camera that is equipped for presets. To set a preset scene, first call the desired monitor and camera, then pan, tilt, zoom, and focus the scene as wanted.
Preferences This pull-down menu provides operator control options. Preferences can only be set by an operator with Supervisor privilege. The Set Alt Monitors and Arm/Disarm Monitors functions are not operational in Excalibur SE -- only the Operator Preferences option can be selected.

Excalibur SE Icon Controls Selecting an icon from the map display activates the function defined for that icon by the icon setup program, Icons Setup. In many cases, selecting the icon also brings up a dialog box for operator control actions defined for that icon.
VCR, Quad, Phoneline Icons The VCR, Quad, and Phoneline icons operate similar to the fixed camera icons. The dialog box for these icons is the same as a fixed camera dialog box, with no optional pan/tilt, lens, or auxiliary functions, as illustrated below.
