20 Getting to Know Y our TV F r ont View Contr ols Description Function 1 Menu T urns the on-screen display (OSD) menus on and o ff. In PC mode, both the green and red L ED are illuminated, indicating sleep st atus. 2 Select channel Changes the channel.

25 Getting S tarted Making Connections Open the back cover by pulling it towa rd you and lifting it upwa rds to get access to the input and output port s as shown: Getting Star ted 9.
26 Connecting to an Antenna or Cable TV 1 Connect one end of the VHF/UHF (Ante nna) or CA TV cabl e to the ANT Jack (VHF/UHF IN Jack) on the back of t he TV . 2 Connect the othe r end of the VHF/UHF (Ant enna) or CA TV cable to the Ante nna or CA TV socket.
27 Connecting to A V Devices Connect external devices such as VCD/DVD players or VCRs to the TV using the A V1, A V2, A V3, and A V4 ports on the back or front of the TV .
28 Connecting to a Video Camera using S-Video The following illustration shows you how to conn ect the TV to a camcorder using the A V2 S-video por t. Actual connections may var y according to the make and model o f the device. Refer to the user ’s manual included with the camcorder for more det ailed instructions.
29 Connecting to a VCR, VCD or DVD Player using Composite Vid eo The illustration presented here shows you ho w to connect your TV to a VCR, VCD or DVD player using the A V3 composite video port. Actual connections may vary according t o the make and model of your device.
30 Connecting Ear phones Y ou can use headphones to listen to the TV instead of using th e built- in speakers. Connect head phones to the headphon e line out port as illustrated.
31 Connecting an Amplifier or Speak ers Connect an external amplifier or speakers to the line out port to provide better sound quality . Refer to the following illustration.
32 Connecting to a PC Connect the TV to your PC to use it as the monitor using the DVI port as shown.Connect the DVI port of the TV to the DVI output of the PC. Connect the line out port of the PC to the line in port of your TV to listen to audio from the PC.
33 Inser ting a CF car d 1 Insert the CF card in the dir ection of t he arrow . 2 T o remove the CF card, press the butt on. the CF card pops out. Gently slide o ut the CF card.
34 Connecting the P ow er Adapter 1 Connect the power cord to the power adapter as illustr ated. 2 Plug the powe r adapter connect or into the DC-IN on the rear pane l of the TV . 3 Plug the three-pron ged plug at the other end of the power cord into a power ou tlet.
35 Using the TV Using the Remote Co ntr ol For best results, u se the remote control within a dist ance of 6 meters (20 feet) from the front of the TV’ s signal sensor . Do not exceed an angle of 30 degrees when point ing at the signal sensor . Refer to the following illustration.
36 T ur n ing the TV On and Of f 1 Press the POWER button on the remote control or on the TV control pane l. The power LED indicator on the front of the TV ch anges from red to green, indic ating that the power is on. 2 Press the POWER button ag ain. The power LED chang es from green to red, indicating that the TV is in standby (off) mode.
37 Adjusting the V olume 1 Press the VOL + button to increase t he volume. 2 Press the VOL – button to decrease the volume. 3 Press the AUTO/MUTE button. The word “MUTE” appears on the bottom right corner of the screen and sound i s turned off. 4 Press the AUTO / MUTE button again to restore the original volume.
38 Using PIP and POP The TV features Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and Picture-on-Picture, enabling you to view two sources at the same time. Follo w these instructions. 1 T urn on t he TV and select a source sign al. 2 Press the PIP bu tton on the remote contro l.
39 4 Press the POSITION button on the remote control to move the PIP window to one of the four corners of the screen as shown. 5 Press the PIP bu tton to switch t o picture outside picture (POP) mode. The two sign als are displayed side-by-si de. 6 Press the PIP button agai n.
40 Using the Flashcard Fea ture The Flashcard feature enables you to view p hotos, watch movies, and listen to MP3 files on CF cards inserted in the CF card slot (A V 5). The following describes the Flashcard feature . St arting Fl ashcard 1 Insert a CF card into the CF card slot (A V 5).
41 Remote Control Keys The following table lists the remote control buttons use d to operate the Flashcard feature. Button Flashcard Name Function Navigation (up/down left/right) — Press these buttons to navigate the Flashcard menus. In Picture mode, use these buttons to pan a picture when zoomed in.
42 Viewing Photos 1 Use the remote control navigation buttons t o select PHOTO. 2 Press the Enter butto n. A screen appears displaying thumbnails of images on the CF card. 3 Use the navig ation buttons t o select a thumbnail image. 4 Press the Enter butto n.
43 Rot ating Images Follow these instructions to rotate images wh en in Photo mode. 1 Put an image in f ull screen mode as d escribed in the previous section. 2 Press Caption on the remote contro l. The image is rotated 90 degre es (90°) in a clockwise dire ction.
44 Listening to Music 1 Use the remote control navigation button s to select MUSIC. 2 Press the Enter butto n. A screen appears displaying a list of the music stored on your CF card. 3 Use the naviga tion buttons to select a music file. The selected file start s playing.
45 W atching V ideos 1 Use the remote control navigation buttons to sele ct VIDEO. 2 Press the Enter butto n. A screen appears displaying thumbnails of the vid eos on your CF card. 3 Use the naviga tion buttons to select a video file. 4 Press Enter . The selected video file b egins playing.
46 Using the Setup Menu s From the Flashcard m a i n s c r e e n , press the Menu button to enter the SETUP MENU MAIN P AGE. Use the navigation buttons to select a menu item and press Enter to open the selected ite m. Select EXIT SETUP and press Enter to leave the setup menu.
47 Movie Setup Select MOVIE SETUP and press Enter to display t he movie setup menu. • Interval T ime: Use the navigation buttons to select INTERV AL TIME. Interval time mode has the following opt ions: – FA S T : sets an increased interval speed between playback.
48 Adjusting On-Screen Displ ay (OSD) Settings The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu system provides a quick a nd simple method to adjust your TV's settings. This chapter describes how to change each of the available settings. T he OSD menu can be accessed through either the front con trol panel or the remote control.
49 Picture Settings Notes: • Y ou can control the OSD with either the remote cont rol or the front pa ne l contr ol. • PC picture mode and TV picture mode have different menu items; PC picture mode incl udes a Backlight ad justment. Press MENU to enter the OSD Main Menu screen.
50 Brightness 1 Press the S or T button to select BRI GHTNESS. The slider bar s hows the current setting. 2 Press the + but ton to increase the brightness.

53 Saturation 1 Press the S or T button to select SA TURA TION . The slider bar shows the current setti ng. 2 Press the + butt on to increas e the saturation.
54 Sharpness 1 Press the S or T button to select SHARPNESS . The slider bar shows the c urrent setti ng. 2 Press the + button to increase the sharpness.
55 Backlight (PC mo de) 1 Press the S or T button to select BACKLIGHT . The slider bar shows the current setti ng. 2 Press the + button to incre ase the backlight intensity .
56 Black Level 1 Press the S or T button to select BLACK LEVEL . The slider bar shows the current setting. 2 Press the + button to incre ase the black level.
57 Color T emp 1 Press the S or T button to select COLOR TEMP . 2 Press the + or – button to change the color te mperature. The current setting is show n in brackets. The following options are available: • STD Color – for standard color settings.
58 Preset 1 Press the S or T button to select PRESET . 2 Press the + or – button. “ON” appears in the brackets. All picture settings are returned to the factory-set defaul t values .

60 Tr e b l e 1 Press the S or T button to select TREBLE . The slider bar shows the current setting. 2 Press the + button to increase the treble. 3 Press the – button to decre ase the treble.
61 Bass 1 Press the S or T button to select BASS . The slider bar shows the current setting. 2 Press the + button to increase the bass. 3 Press the – but ton to decrease the bass.
62 Balance BBE, T ruSu rround, and EALA 1 Press the S or T button to select BALANCE . The slider bar shows the current sett ing. 2 Press the + button to shif t the balance to the ri ght speaker . 3 Press the – button to shift the balance to the left speaker .
63 Earphone 1 Press the S or T button to select EARPHONE . The slider bar shows the current setti ng. 2 Press the + button to incre ase the earphone vo lume.
64 Preset 1 Press the S or T button to select PRESET . 2 Press the + or – button. “ON” appears in the bracke ts. All audio settings are re turned to the factory-set default values.

81 T aking Care of Y our TV T urn the power off b efore you begin cleaning the TV. For best results, use a clean lens cloth to remove dust and fingerprint s from the screen. Do not wipe the shell of the TV with alcohol, methanol, gasoline or oil products to avoid damaging the finish.
