16 CONNECTING EXTERNAL VIDEO SOURCES The exact arrangem ent y ou use to conn ect the VCR, camcorder, laserdisc play er, DVD player or HDTV Set Top Box to your TV set is dependen t on the m odel and featu res of each com ponen t. Check the ow ner's man ual of each compon ent for th e location of vi deo and audio inpu ts and ou tputs.

The picture that is played back w ill be abnormal if the connection is loose. 2. 18 CONNECTING A S-VIDEO VCR OR STEREO LASERDISC PLAYER 1. Connect th e cable from th e S-VIDEO OUT of the VCR OR laserdisc play er to the INPUT (S-VIDEO) jack, as show n on the TV set below . 2. Connect th e cable from th e AUDIO OUT R of th e VCR or laserdisc play er to the INPUT (AUDIO/R) jack.
19 CONNECTING A STEREO LASERDISC/DVD PLAYER OR HDTV SET TOP BOX TO INPUT 1 OR 2 COMPONENT: Y:PB-PR. 1. Connect the cable from th e Y OUT of the Laserdisc/DVD player or HDTV set top bo x to the INPUT (Y) jack as show n on the TV set below .

21 THE GENIUS REMOTE CO NTROL (CLU-572TSI) In addition to controlling all the fu nctions on y our HITACHI Proj ection TV, the new rem ote is designed to operate different ty pes of VCRs, CATV (Cable TV) co nverters, satellite receivers, DVD players, and other audio/v ideo equipm ent w i th one tou ch.

41 CHANNEL LIST This function allow s you to review which chan nels are labeled in CHANNEL ID (ID)., wh ich have been added to CHANNEL MEMORY (SCAN), and w hich are protected b y PARENTAL CONTROL (LOCK). Press T HUMB ST ICK or to review m o re channels.
42 CLOCK SET The time m ust be set before y ou can use th e 4 EVENT PROGRAM, or TV TIME OUT . Use THUMB ST ICK or to set the tim e, date, and year. Press T HUMB ST ICK or to change position. Press EXIT to quit menu or THUMB STICK to return to previous menu w hen the CURSOR is in the first position.
43 CONVERGENCE ADJ. Your HITACHI Projection TV has th ree color projection tubes: on e for red, one f or green, one f or blue. When m ixed togeth er in th e proper proportion, th e output of these t hree colors tu bes can produ ce any color.
44 COMP ONENT SET The COMPONENT SET function is very usefu l wh en setting u p reception High Definition, Standard Definition and NTSC signals.
