18 Notes: • If the cloc k is not set after about f ive m inutes have elapsed, the cloc k m ust be s et m anually (see page 20). • W hen the VCR power is restor ed after a power f ailure of m ore than one hour , the clock will indicate "--:- -", and the clock set proc edure (autom atic or m anual) m ust be repeated.
19 4 Make su re that item 1 is h ighlight ed "CLOCK SET <A UTO >". • If "CLOCK SET <MANUAL>" is highlighted, pres s the (1) button to switch it to "CLOCK SET <AUT O>". i 5 Press the (2) b utto n. This screen appear s to show that the clock is being set.

Note: If the displayed time dr ifts f rom the curr ent time even af ter steps 1 - 5 have been perf orm ed, reset the DST . Press the G UIDE and (3) buttons then pr ess the (4) button to specif y another option, then set the tim e again.
22 VT-F X632A ONLY 3 Press the (1) b utton to select "CLO CK SET <M ANUA L>". W hen "CLOCK SET <MANUAL>" is selec ted, "SET T IME ZONE" ( item 3) and "SET DST " (item 4) are not displayed. VT-F X632A ONLY 4 Press the (2) b utton to bring u p the clock set menu.
23 7 Press the number buttons to f ill in the number of the mont h, then the day then the year. • For dates with only one number (1-9) pr ess the (0) button first, then the date. For exam ple, if today is July 8 1997, press (0) (7)(0) (8)(9)( 7). T he correc t day of the week will appear by itself.

25 7 Press GUIDE to ret urn to reg ular view ing . Note: Your VCR is capable of r eceiving 68 broadcas t TV c hannels (VHF 2-13, UHF 14-69) and cable c hannels (1-125). In s ome ar eas channels cannot be received when CAT V1 is selected. In this case, s elect CAT V2 in the receiving s etup.

28 5 Press the GUIDE b utton to end t he settin g. CA BLE BOX SETUP The f ollowing setup allows the VCR channel to autom atically switch to the cable box output channel during delay ed recor ding. Note: This setup should be per form ed if y ou receive all c hannels through a cable box (Hookups [E], [F] or| [G]).
29 5 Press the (5) b utto n to select "CABLE BOX SETUP" menu . 6 Press the (1) b utto n to answ er "YES" t o the qu estion "IS A CA BLE BOX BEING USED?" • If you select "YES", y ou need not operate "VCR PLUS+ SET UP" ( s ee page 48).

Turn on the cable box and le ave it tuned to the channel y ou w ant to record befor e the recording is scheduled to begin.

Press the ST OP butt on to stop th e tape. Notes: • Use the CH ( or ) button to m inim ize any visual nois e bands on the scr een.
35 During play : Press the REW b utton to search in rev erse. Press the F.FW D butt on to search ahead. • Press the PLAY button to return to nor mal playback. Press REW or F.FWD and hold it; you can search backward or forward through the tape at a higher speed while v iewing it.
36 4 Press the GUIDE b utton to end t he settin g. USING THE "SU PER INDEX" FEA TURE • What is SUPER INDEX SUPER INDEX allows you to quickly search for a pr ogram or a scene you want to vi.
37 Note: If there ar e no index m ark s on the tape, the VCR will just rewind to the beginning or f ast for ward to the end. • Locating the beginni ng of a blank section (BLANK SEA RCH) This function s earches f or a non-rec orded sec tion of rem aining tape, or unus ed tape, and stops the tape when it loca tes such a secti on.
38 W hen the beginning of blank is loc ated, the STOP s creen will appear f or five s econds and the tape will stop • The tape rem aining tim e appears in the VCR display.

48 DAILY Records a show at the sam e time ever y day of the week, Monday through Friday. W EEKLY Records a s how at the same day and time ever y week. EXA M PL E: Set the VCR to record "one time" , a program on Channel 8 that starts at 6:00 PM and ends at 6: 30 PM on 7/10/98 , at the EP recording s peed.

50 11 Press the PROGR A M but ton to set the prog ram in memory. 12 Press the POW ER butto n to tu rn off t he VCR. The delayed recording indicator will display on the VCR. This tells you that the VCR w ill autom atic ally record at the tim es and dates you have programm ed.
51 USING THE VCR PLUS+ S YSTEM FOR RECORDING • A bout the VCR Plus+ system This handy feature m ak es tim ed rec ording a snap. You don't need to enter the specif ic channel, date, tim e or duration of a pr ogram . All y ou enter is its PlusCode program m ing num ber - a num ber of up to eight digits.
52 Note in the exam ple that the channel num bers ar e the sam e except f or 20 (rec eived on channel 8) and 42 (received on c hannel 38). Thes e two channels m ust be ass igned. EA S Y DELA YE D RE CORDING WITH THE V CR P LUS+ SYSTEM This setup should be performed if you are using an A nt enna or Cabl e w i thout a cable box.
53 3 Press the (4) bu tton to select CHANNEL PRESET . Note: If you h a ve set up the cable box, the following operation is not necessary. 4 Press the (4) butto n to select VCR PL US+ SETUP. A sm all arrow points to a blank "--" in the CHANNEL c olumn.

63 INTEGRA TING YOUR STEREO SYSTEM WITH Y OUR VCR • Hookup When your VCR is conn ected to a st ereo system, you can: • Make high quality "audio only" recordings for up to 6 hours (on a T-120 video cassette tape). • Receive quality stereo sound from your V CR through your stereo sy stem.
64 COPYING TA PES FROM A CA MCORDER • Hook-up You may use your VC R to copy tapes from any camcorder onto standard VHS cassette tapes. Note: If your camcorder is not s tereo (has only one audio plug), connect it into the A UDIO IN-L input on the back of the VCR.
