P age 4 SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES Always hold the control handle in your right hand. Refer to the Operat ion section later in this manual for additional instructions. To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated with sound level(s), hearing protection is required.

P age 9 ASSEMBL Y WARNING: Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wir e before installing parts, making adjustments, cleaning, or when not in use. Failure to do so could result in possible serious personal injury . ASSEMBLING THE BLOWER TUBES See Figures 2 - 5.

P age 11 ST ARTING AND STOPPING See Figures 6 - 8. Starting the product differs depending on whether the engine is cold or warm. Blower should be on a flat, bare surface for starting. TO ST ART A COLD ENGINE: Slowly press the primer bulb seven (7) times.
P age 12 WARNING: Keep away fr om all hot surfaces of the blower . Failur e to do so could result in possible serious personal injury . OPERA TING THE BLOWER See Figure 9. Slip arm through harness strap and onto shoulder, then repeat for the other shoulder.
P age 13 MAINTENANCE WARNING: When servicing, use only identical Homelite replacemen t parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust.
P age 14 SP ARK PLUG This engine uses a Champion RCJ6Y or equivalent spark plug with .025 in. electr ode gap. Use an exact replacement and replace annually , or more frequently if necessary . WARNING: Be careful not to cross-thr ead the spark plug. Cross- threading will seriously damage the pr oduct.
P age 15 TROUBLESHOOTING Pr oblem Possible Cause Solution Engine will not start. No spark. No fuel. Engine is flooded. Starter rope pulls harder now than when new . Check spark . Remove spark plug. Reatta ch the spark plug cap and lay spark plug on metal cylinder .
