Y our sea t belt syst em includes la p/ shoulder belt s in a ll f ive sea t ing posit ions. T he f ront se at belt s ar e als o e qu ip ped with au tom atic s eat belt t ensioner s.
T he lap/shoulde r belt g oes ove r your s houlder, a cr oss your chest , and a cros s your hips. To f aste n the be l t, in se rt the latc h plat e int o t he buck le, t hen t ug on t he belt t o make sure the buckle is lat ched ( see pa ge f or how t o proper ly posit ion t he belt ).
For added prot ect ion, t he f ront sea t belt s a re e quipped wit h a ut omat ic seat be lt t ensione rs. W hen a ctiv at ed, the tensioners im mediately tighten the be l ts to h el p ho l d the dr iv er and a f r ont pa ssenger in posit ion. For saf ety, you shou ld ch eck the condit ion of your sea t belt s r egular ly.
If a seat belt is worn du ring a crash, it must be rep laced by t he dealer. A belt t hat ha s been w orn dur ing a crash may n ot p rovi de the s ame leve l of prot ect ion in a subseque nt cra sh. T he dea ler should also ins pect t he anchor s f or dama ge a nd repla ce them if needed.

CONT INUED T he drive r’s advanc ed f ront airb ag system includes a seat position sensor under t he sea t. If t he sea t is t oo f ar f orw ard, t he air bag w ill inf lat e with less f orce, regardless of the severity of the imp act .
Moving the f ront seat f orcibly back agains t carg o o n the seat o r f loor behind it. Hanging he av y it ems on t he f r ont pass enger sea t, or pla cing hea vy item s i n the s eat-bac k p ock et. Mo ving the f ron t seat o r se at-back f orcibly back aga inst t he f olded rear s eat.

A lt hough Honda does not e ncoura ge childre n to r ide in f r ont, if the posit ion sensor s det ect a child has leane d int o th e side a irba g’s deployment pa t h, t he a irbag will shut of f .
If the impact is on t he passenger’s side, t he pa ssenger’ s side cur ta in airb ag wi ll i nf late e ven if t here are no occupant s on t hat side of the v ehicle. One or bo t h sid e c urtain airbag s m ay i nflate in a m od erate to se ve re f ront al collision w hich ca uses t he f ront a irba gs t o deploy.
If you see a ny of t hese ind icat ion s, the airbags and seat belt tensioners may not wor k prope rly w hen you need them. If th e in di cato r co mes on at any ot her t ime, or does not come on a t all, you sh ould hav e the system checked by you r dealer.

Improper ly re placing or covering f ront seat -back covers can pr eve nt y our side a irbags f rom inf lat ing during a side impac t. If wat er or anot her liquid soa ks int o a sea t- back , i t can prevent the side airbag cutof f system f rom working proper ly.
− − − Child ren depen d on a dults to protect them. However, despi te t heir b est int ent ions, many adult s do not know how t o protect child passengers. If you have child ren, or ever need t o driv e wit h a child in your v ehicle , be sure t o re ad t his sec tion.

If you are no t wearing a sea t belt in a cra sh, y ou could be thrown f orward and crus h the child aga inst the dashboa rd or a seat-b ack. Make sure t here are no objects near t he a nchors t ha t could prevent a secure connection b etwe en the ch i l d se at an d the anch ors. Move the seat belt buckle or t ongue aw ay f rom t he lower anch ors.

When not using the L A T CH syst em, all chi ld seats must be secured to the vehic le wit h t he la p pa rt of a la p/ shoulder belt . Push and pull the child seat f orwa rd a nd f rom side -t o-side t o verif y that i t is secure eno ug h to sta y upr ight dur ing norma l driving maneuv ers.

Y ou can use t he f og light s only w hen t he hea dlights ar e on low beam.

Make any steering wheel adju stment bef ore you st a rt driv ing. Move the steering wheel u p or down, a nd in or out , so it point s toward your chest, not toward your f a ce. Mak e sure you ca n see th e instr ument pane l gauges and indicat or s. Pu sh the lev er up to lo ck the st eer ing whee l in posit ion.
Y o us h o u l dh a v e r e c e i v e da k e y number t a g wit h your ke ys. Y ou w ill need this key num ber if you ever hav e t o get a lost key re placed. Use only Honda -a pprove d key blank s. Protect t he keys f rom direct sunlight , high t emper at ure , and high humidit y.
If the system repeatedly does no t rec ognize t he coding of your k ey, contact your dealer. Do no t atte mp t to al ter thi s sy stem o r add oth er de vic es to it.
