1 HOO V ER ® ® Review this manua l before operating deep cleaner . Recor d and Retain This HOOVER deep cleaner is designed for deep cleaning of carpet, rugs, carpeted stairs and upholstery. ADAPTER METAL SCREW (C) (D) TAB FOR GROUNDING SCREW NOTE: In Canada, the use of a temporary adaptor is not permitted by the Canadian Electrical Code.

3 Assembling deep cleaner The assembled model will look like this drawing. 2 CORD HOOK With cord hook to back of deep cleaner, push upper handle down onto lower handle. (Fig. 2). Remove clean solution tank (upper tank) (Fig. 1). 1 Attach upper handle 3 Push bolts into holes on front of handle (Fig.

5 T o transpor t Turn deep cleaner off before transporting. To move your deep cleaner from room to room, put handle in upright and locked position, tilt deep cleaner back on wheels, and push forward. Step on pedal to lower handle to operating position.
6 Replace cap. Rotate cap clockwise until it locks in place. Cap must be locked in place for proper performance and to prevent leaking. Turn cap upside down to serve as a measuring cup. Fill cap to fill line (5 ounces) with HOOVER Carpet/Upholstery Detergent.
7 How to use Continued ➜ REAR OF TANK TABS a. Vacuum thoroughly - For carpet, use a vacuum cleaner with an agitator for best results. Vacuum upholstery with a vacuum cleaner with cleaning tool attachments. Use a crevice tool to reach into tufts and folds.

If it is necessary to walk on damp carpet, place towels or white cloths on the traffic areas.
9 Cleaning bar e f loors Some models come with the bare floor attachment. For others, the attachment is available at additional cost from your Autho- rized Hoover Dealer (Depot) or Hoover Factory Service Center. TANK HANDLE How to attach bare floor attachment Disconnect deep cleaner from electrical outlet.
10 HANDLE RELEASE PEDAL Step on handle release pedal and lower deep cleaner handle until it rests on the floor. Unlatch back part of recovery tank lid and remove lid. Remove recovery tank front panel by sliding it straight up. FRONT PANEL CONVERTER Replace panel with converter.
11 Cleaning carpeted stairs Read “Before you begin cleaning” instructions on page 7. Attach hose and solution tube as instructed on pages 9 and 10. Fill clean solution tank according to instructions on pages 5 and 6. Use 5 ounces of HOOVER Carpet/Upholstery Detergent.
12 Cleaning upholstery and automobile interiors Read “Before you begin cleaning” instructions on page 7. Be sure to check the cleaning code on your upholstery. Use your deep cleaner only on upholstery marked “W” or “W/S”. Turn deep cleaner ON.
