5 6 CAUTION: When cleaner is turned on, agitator will continue to rotate while cleaner handle is in upright position. Avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use. Avoid leaving the cleaner in one place for an extended period of time particularly on thick carpet.
7 8 Standard edge cle an ing is pro- vided on the left side of cleaner to remove surface dust and litter. Brushed edge cleaning is provided on the right side of the cleaner to r emove embedde d dirt in the carpet near baseboards and furniture. Guid e right side of cleaner parallel to edge of carpet or furniture for brushe d edge cleaning.
9 10 NOZZLE Adjustment for carpet pile height The cleaning of c a rpet and rugs takes place at the nozzle. If it is necessar y to raise and lower the nozzle for various carpet pile heig h ts, slide the nozzle control knob to th e correct setting. Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet before mak- ing nozzle adjustment.

17 18 SELF PROPEL BELT AGITATOR BELT There are two belts on your cleaner. One belt dr ive s the agitator; the other o pera tes the Self Propel fea t ure. The belts When buying n e w belts, you should always insist o n genuine HOOVE R p arts. Other belts may not meet the Hoover design and qu a lity control standards.
