EN Chapter 3 89 Using the optional duplex printing accessory f or tw o-sided printing The optional duple x printing accessor y ( figure 3-3 ), enab les you to print on both sides of a page. In tw o-sided printing, known as duple x printing or duple xing, the back side of the page is printed first.
90 Common print ing task s EN T o use the optional duplex printing accessory: Be sure that the optio nal duple x pr inti ng accessory is installed correctly . If the 500-sh ee t paper feed er (T ray 3) is installed, the duple x unit must be positioned between the printer and T ra y 3.
EN Chapter 3 91 Contr ol panel settings for duple x printing Many soft ware ap plications allow y ou to change duple x pr inting settings . If your softw ar e application or pr inte r driver does not allo w yo u to adjust duple x printing settings , yo u can adjust these sett ings through the contr ol pa nel.
92 Common print ing task s EN Options f or binding duplex printing jobs Bef ore pr inting in duple x mode, decide on which edge you will be binding y our finished document. The binding setu p options are: Long-edge ( book) binding , which is the con ventional lay out used in book binding.

96 Common print ing task s EN Deleting a stored quick copy job When a user sends a quic k copy job , the pr inte r ov erwrites any pre vious jobs with the same user and job n ame.
EN Chapter 3 97 Pr oofing and holding a job The proof and hold fe ature pro vides a quick and ea sy wa y to print and proof one cop y of a job and then print the additi onal copies . T o per manently store the job and pre vent the printer fr om deleting it when space is needed f or something else , select the Stored Job option in the driver .
98 Common print ing task s EN Deleting a held job When a user sends a proo f and hold job , the printer automatica lly deletes that user ’ s previous st ored pr oof and hold job .
EN Chapter 3 99 Printing a priv ate job The pr iv ate printing f eature le ts a user specify th at a job is not pr inted until that us er releases it usin g a 4-digit person al identification number (PI N) through the printer control panel. Th e user specifies the PIN in the driv er and it is sent to the printer as part of the print job .
100 Common printing tasks EN Deleting a private job A private job is au tomatically deleted fr om the printe r ’ s hard disk after the user releases it for printing, unless t he user selects the Stored Job option in the driver .
EN Chapter 3 101 Storing a print job The user can do wnload a pr int jo b to the printer ’ s hard disk without printing it. The user can th en print the job at any ti me through the printe r control panel.
