SECTION 1 GETTING ACQUAINTED Section 1 – Getting Acquainted Safety Precautions THIS EQUIPMENT PRESENTS NO PROBLEM WHEN USED PROPERLY. HOWEVER, CERTAIN SAFETY RULES SHOULD BE OBSERVED WHEN OPERATING THE PRINTER.

SECTION 2 INSTALLATION & SETUP Installing the Ink Cartridges The printer can accomm odate 3 HP45A style inkjet cartr idge s. The cartridges are installed as follows: Remove the inkjet cart ridge from its packag ing, takin g care not to touch the copper contacts or the nozzle plate.

SECTION 2 INSTALLATION & SETUP Paper Feed (Media Transport) Test Test for proper media transport. If the printer is setup properly, it should feed the media without hesitation, skewing or jamming. 1. With the printer off-line, press the ENTER key, to start the Paper Feed fea ture (feeds m aterial without printing).

Printer Control Panel & MENU Features The printer’s control panel keys can be used to access various functions t hat help the operator control the printer.
SECTION 3 OPERATING THE PRINTER Print Enhancement –The print enhancement feature is used to help the nozzles on the ink cartridge stay open and decrease the loss of the descende r on le tters suc h as “y” or “q” and accent marks that do not appear in every address .
SECTION 3 OPERATING THE PRINTER Print Recovery After a Jam If the media should jam in the printer during the run it is possible to recover up to 9 pieces (records) that might be lost. If a jam occurs, the printer contro l pa nel will display “Jam: Reprint Lost Pieces” and “MENU To Continue”.

It controls the operation of the printer and allows you to send fixed and variable text and grap hics to the printer. The following describes the printer driver properties wi ndows for the En velope Im ager 1.

SECTION 4 MAINTENANCE Inkjet Cartridge Storage Short-term Cartridge Storage (Less than 8 hours or less than 2 hours in hot/dry environmen ts.) • The cartridge can be left i n the Printer, for s hort periods of tim e.
SECTION 4 MAINTENANCE Purging the Nozzles If the inkjet cartridge sits inactive for a period of tim e, ink may dry in the nozzl es. Printing m ay not remove these “ink plug s” from the nozzles. Wh ite streaks will then show u p in the printed text or graphic.
