Insert two AAA batteries (observe the + marks on the batteries) . 3. Insert the tab on the battery cover into the case, and then snap the cover into place.

Cable with Set-T op Cable Box If your cable service requires a set-top cable box (STB) to view scramble d channels, connect the comp onents as shown.
12 Setting Up the T elevision • If all cable channels a re scrambled, connect the incoming c able directly to th e cable box (omit the splitter and omit the connection to the television cable i nput). • Y ou can eliminate the ca ble box if your cable p rovider can install a Cabl eCARD module in th e television.
Setting Up the T elevision 13 Cable with Cable Box/DVR If you have standard cable service and your cable box is e quipped with a personal digital video recorde r (DVR), connect your system as shown. This setup also enables you to record one channel whi le viewing another .
14 Setting Up the T elevision Cable Box and VCR/DVR If you have a set-top cable box (STB) a nd a VCR or personal digital video recorder (DVR), connect them as shown. NOTE: • If your devices have different connectors than t hose shown, use th e highest-quality vide o connection available.

18 Setting Up the T elevision Computer If the computer has an S-video output, you can connect it to the televisi o n as shown usin g either S-Video 1 or S-Video 2.
Setting Up the T elevision 19 Inst alling a Ca bleCARD Module Y ou must obtain the CableCARD module from your local c able provider . After installing the card, follow any setup instructions provided with the card. The following figure shows a typical C ableCARD module, and is for illustration only .
20 Setting Up the T elevision T urning on the T elevision • Press the power button on the front of the television or on the remote control. The television might take a minute or so to warm up and display a bright picture. Item Function 1 Power Turns the television on and off.

Using the Photo Viewer 23 2 Using the Photo V iewer About Picture Viewer Using Photo Viewer you can view your digital pictures on your HD television. Y ou can view individual pictures, rotate pictures, view slideshows of your pictur es, and even print your picture s through the ease of the television’s remote control.
24 Using the Photo Viewer Browsing Pictures This feature allows you to view and search th rough all the photos on your memory card. 1. On the remote control, press Menu . Use the left and right arrow buttons to select Browse , then press OK. 2. The photos are then di splayed as thumbnails.
Using the Photo Viewer 25 Printing Pictures Y our printer must use PictBridge techno logy . If it does not, you will not be able to print photos through th e television. Connecting the Printer T o print photos, you must first connect your printer to t he television.
26 Using the Photo Viewer Printing all t a gged photos T o print all tagged photos: 1. Insert the memory card into the television. 2. Connect the printer to the te levision. T urn on the printer . 3. T ag the pho to(s) you want to print. Refer to “T agging and Untagging Pictures” on page 24 .
Using the Photo Viewer 27 T roubleshooting Problems Problem The printer outputs a blank sheet of paper . Po ssible Cau se : There is a mismatch between the paper size selected and the paper in the printer . Solution : Restart the print job and specify a paper size that matches the paper loaded in the printer .
28 Using the Photo Viewer Y ou mark images for printing and remove the memory card. The next time the card is inserted, the printing information has been lost. Possible Cause : The memo ry card was write-protected , so the rotation information could not be sa ved.

34 W atching T elevision Rating Systems NOTE: A large rating icon appears in the upper left-hand corner of the television screen for the first 15 seconds of every rated program of 30 minutes or less. For every rated program longer than an hour , a rating icon appears in the upper left-hand corner of the screen at the beginning of each half hour .

Fixing Problems 41 5 Fixing Problems Maint aining the T elevision The television is designed to require very little maintenanc e. For best performance, keep the television clean, and replace the lamp module when the televi sion displays a warning message.
42 Fixing Problems 1. T urn off the television and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes. 2. After the 30 minutes (or more) has elapsed, unplug th e power cord to remove AC power from the television.
