1 Product Features These monitor models have an active matrix, thin-film tra nsistor (TFT) panel. Fe atures of the monitors include: ● 49.41-cm (19.5-inch) diagonal viewable area disp lay with 1600 .
● Energy saver feat ure to meet requir ements for reduced powe r consumption ● Safety guidelines, certif ications, and regula tory notices fo r these products are availa ble in the HP LCD Monitors.
2 Setting Up the Monitor To set up the monitor, en sure that the power is turn ed off to the mon itor, compu ter system, and other attached devices, then follow the instructions below. Attaching the Monitor Base CAUTION: The screen is fragile. Avoid tou ching or applying pressure to the screen ; doing so can cause damage.
3. Push the base onto the stan d until it clicks into place. Rear Components Component Function 1 AC Power Conn ector Connects the AC power cord to the monitor. 2 DVI-D Connects the DVI-D cable to the monitor. 3 VGA Connects the VGA cable to the monitor.
Connecting the Cables 1. Place the monitor in a convenient, well- ventilated l ocation near the computer. 2. Remove the cable management cl ip from the stand by pul ling back on th e two sides of the clip. 3. Connect a VGA signal ca ble or DVI-D signal cable.
● For DVI digital operation, use the DVI-D sign al cable provided. Connect th e DVI-D signal cable to the DVI connector on the rear of the monitor an d the other end to th e DVI connector on the computer.
4. Connect one end of th e power cord to the AC power connecto r on the back of th e monitor, and the other end to an electrical wall outlet. WARNING ! To redu ce the risk of electric shock or d amage to the equ ipment: Do not disable th e power cord groun ding plug.

Adjusting the Monitor Tilt the monitor panel forward or backwar d to set it to a comfortabl e eye level. Turning on the Monitor 1. Press the po wer button on th e computer to turn on the computer. 2. Press the power button on the front of the monitor to turn on the monitor.
Locating the Rating Labels The rating labels on the mon itor provide the sp are part number, product numbe r, and serial number. You may need th ese numbers when conta cting HP a bout the moni tor model. The ra ting labels are located on the re ar panel of the monitor di splay head.
