3 CONVERTING OIL TO GAS Before attempting the g as conversion, check to insure the heating sy stem is properly sized for the total heating demand and the entire sy stem is in good operating condition, including the fire chamber and flue passage s.
4 CHIMNEY REQUIREMENTS The chim ney shoul d ext end at least 3’ above a flat roof or the h ighest roof ri dge (see Fig. 2) and be free in a radius of 30’ of objects such as t ree limbs , other bu ildings, etc, which m ay cause a down draft. The chi mney should be li ned as requi red by the local Gas C ompany or local codes.
5 VENT PIPE AND DRAFT HOOD SIZ ES Refer to C hart 3 to properly size the flu e pipe. If the flue pi pe exceeds 10’ in l ength (includi ng elbows), u se the nex t larger diam eter flue pip e and draft ho od.
6 GAS SERVICE & PIPE CAPACITY Before connectin g the burner to the gas supp ly , insu re that the gas p ipes and s ervice meter are large enough to perm it the ad dition al load o f the gas burner (s ee Chart 4).
7 It is advisable to run a separat e gas line from the meter t o the gas burn er to avoi d pressure drops. R efer to the above Pi pe Capacit y table for th e correct siz es.
8 ORIFICE INSTALLATION All burn ers are equipp ed with an orifice set at the mi nimum firing rate (ex cept for O EM packaged units ). Drilli ng the orifice i ncreases the firi ng rate. To dri ll the o rifice, first open the union an d then u nscrew the o rifice from i nside th e union.
9 ELECTRIC WIRING These gas burners are manufactured for use wi th 120 v olt, 60 cy cle, single-ph ase electric current. The install ation m ust com ply and be grounded in accord ance with t he Nation al Board of Fire Underwrit ers and Nati onal Elect ric Code A NSI/NFPA No.

11 LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS To light the SU-2A Gas Bu rner 1. Set the thermost at to th e lowest temperature 2. The contro l knob o n the gas valve sho uld be i n the “OFF” positi on for at l east five m inutes.

The blow er motor i s the on ly movi ng part. It does not require lub rication, s ince the bal l bearings have been permanentl y lubricated .
