4 – English INTR ODUCTION Dear Customer , Thank y ou f or choosing a Husqvarna Rider . Husqvarna Riders are built to a unique design with a front-mounted cutting unit and a patented rear-wheel steering system. Riders are designed for maximum efficiency e ven in small or confined areas.

English – 13 PRESENT A TION Presentation Cong ratulations on y our choice of an e xcellent quality product that will give y ou great pleasure for many y ears. This operator’ s manual describes Rider 15V2, Rider 15V2s A WD and Rider 15V2 A WD . The machines are equipped with a 15 horse power engine from Kaw asaki.
14 – English PRESENT A TION Cutting unit Rider 15V2, Rider 15V2s A WD and 15V2 A WD can be equipped with two diff erent cutting units. • Combi 1030mm/41” • Combi 1120 mm/44” The Combi-unit, equipped with a BioClip-plug, finely chops the cuttings to f er tiliser .
English – 15 PRESENT A TION The seat can also be adjusted lengthw ays. T o adjust move the le ver under the front edge of the seat to the left, so that the seat can be mov ed f orward or bac kwards to the required position. Fuelling The engine runs on unleaded petrol with a minimum octane rating of 87 (not mix ed with oil).
16 – English Driving Bef ore star ting • Read the saf ety instructions and information concer ning the placement of controls and functions bef ore star ting. • P erform daily maintenance before starting as set out in the Maintenance schedule. Start the engine 1 Make sure that the clutch control is depressed.
English – 17 Driving 8 Let the engine run at moderate speed or half throttle for 3- 5 minutes bef ore subjecting it to heavy load. 9 Set the required engine speed with the throttle control. Starting the engine with a weak battery If the battery is too weak to star t the engine, it should be recharged.
18 – English Driving 4 Press in the lock b utton on the lifting le ver and lo wer the cutting unit. Cutting tips • Localise and mark stones and other fixed objects to a void collision. • Star t with a high cutting height and reduce down until the required mowing results are obtained.
English – 19 Maintenance Maintenance sc hedule The f ollowing is a list of the maintenance which should be conducted on the machine. For those points not described in this manual, visit an authorised ser vice workshop. 1) If the machine is used daily it should be lubricated twice a week.
20 – English Maintenance Cleaning Clean the machine directly after use. It is much easier to wash off grass cuttings bef ore they dr y . Oily dir t can be remov ed using a cold degreasing agent. Spra y on a thin la yer . Rinse at normal water pressure.
English – 21 Maintenance 1 Remov e the frame plate b y loosening the screws (2) and lift the frame plate b y the rear edge. 2 Check the tension of the steering wires by squeezing them together by the arro ws as illustrated.
22 – English Maintenance 1 Loosen the clamping screw f or the cable’ s outer casing and mov e the throttle to the full throttle position. 2 Check that the throttle wire is attached to the correct hole in the lower le ver , see diagram. 3 Pull the throttle wire casing to the f ar left and tighten the clamping screw .
English – 23 Maintenance Alwa ys replace the paper filter every 200 hours. 7 Put the pre-filter and paper filter back into the air filter unit. 8 Put back the air filter unit b y first aligning the hooks on the bottom of the unit, then press it until the catches lock into position.
24 – English Maintenance Chec k the safety system The machine is equipped with a saf ety system that prev ents star ting or driving under the following conditions . The engine should only be possible to start when the cutting unit is in its raised position and the h ydrostat pedals are in the neutral position.
English – 25 Maintenance Replacing the light b ulbs F or information about the bulb type , see T echnical Data. 1 Loosen the lock n ut and remov e the Allen bolt. Remove the steering wheel. 2 Unscrew the tw o screws holding the co ver on the po wer ser vo housing.
26 – English Maintenance Chec king the engine’ s cooling air intake Clean the air intake g rille in the engine cover behind the driver’ s seat. Open the engine cov er .
English – 27 Maintenance 7 Slide the unit in and inser t the pin. Make sure that the tongue (3) on the cutting unit engages correctly . 8 Fit the drive belt around the drive wheels of the cutting unit. 9 Hook up the height adjustment strut. 10 Mov e the suppor t wheels to their parking position.
28 – English Maintenance 5 Adjust the unit’ s ground pressure by screwing in or out the adjusting screws located behind the front wheels on both sides.
English – 29 Maintenance Placing in the service position 1 P osition the machine on flat ground. Apply the par king brak e. Adjust the cutting unit to the lowest cutting height and lower the cutting unit. 2 Remov e the front hood by remo ving the pin.
30 – English Maintenance 8 Lift of the drive belt. Then pull out the pin. 9 Pull the frame f orwards and refit the pin. 10 Grasp the front edge of the cutting unit, pull out and raise into the ser vice position. If the cylindrical bolt, which is now holding the cutting unit is remov ed, the cutting unit can be lifted off .
English – 31 Lubrication Chec king the engine’ s oil level. Check the oil le vel in the engine when the Rider stands horizontal with the engine s witched off. Open the engine cov er . Loosen the dipstick, pull it up and wipe it off . Now insert the dipstick again, without tightening it.
32 – English Lubrication Fill with new oil according to Chec king the engine’ s oil lev el. Star t the engine and let it idle for about 3 min utes. Now stop it and check f or signs of leakage. Fill with oil to compensate f or the oil held in the new oil filter .

34 – English Storage Winter stora ge At the end of the season, or if the machine is going to stand idle f or more than 30 days , it should immediately be made ready f or storage. Fuel which is left to stand for long periods (30 da ys or more) can leav e tacky deposits which can b lock the carburettor and interf ere with the engine.
