Residential use: Hustler T urf Consumer Products used for normal residential purposes* are warranted f or three (3) years from date of delivery on all materials and workmanship.

OPERATION 601156_0308 11 Safe Operat ing Practices This product is cap able of amputating hands and feet and thro wing objects. Always follow all safety instru ctions to avoid serious injury or death. 601156_0308 13 immediately if it malfunctions. The machine incorporates a separate seat switch which will stop the tractor engine when the operator is unseated for any reason while the tractor is operating. This is a safety feature designed t o prevent runaway or accide ntal enta nglement.
14 601156_0308 5. Insert key in ignition switch and rotate full clockwise to engage starting motor . Release key w hen engine starts. IMPORT ANT: The engine starter should not be operated for p eriods longer than 30 seconds at a time.
601156_0308 15 forward. Push the left steering control lev er farther forward from neutral than the right steering control leve r and finish the turn . (Fig. 3-9) W ARNING: Always be aware of what is behind the mac hine before backing up. Do not mo w in reverse unless absolutely necessary .
16 601156_0308 Use high blade speed. Y our mower is designed to operate at full throt- tle. The throttle setting directly cont rols blade speed. The highest blade speed generally gives best cut.
601156_0308 17 W ith the engine running, engage the deck clutch switch ( Fig. 3-1) and advance engine throttle to full rpm. NO TE: Engaging the deck clutch at high engine rpm or when u nder heavy load (in tall grass for example) ca n cause belts and/or electric clutch to slip, resulting in premature wear or possible damage.

601156_0308 21 Fuel system D ANGER: Observe usual fuel handling precautions: Do not smoke while refueling. Extinguish all cigarettes, cigars, pipes andother so urces of ignition. Do not remove fuel cap or f ill tank with engine running or while engine is hot.

Please refer to this manual for engine servicing, lubricating oil level s with quality and viscosity recommendations, bolt torques, etc.
