FRONT SEA TS Front power seat adjustment Operating tips: . The power seat motor has an auto-reset overload protection circuit. If the motor stops during operation, wait 30 sec- onds, then reactivate the switch. . Do not operate the power seat switch for a long period of time when the engine is off.

PRECAUTIONS ON SEA T BEL T USAGE If you are wearing your seat belt properly adjusted, and you are sitting upright and well back in your seat with both feet on the floor, your chance s of being injured or killed in an accident and/or the severity of injury may be greatly reduced.

SSS0016 SSS0014 PREGNANT WOMEN INFINITI recommends that pregnant women use seat belts. The seat belt should be worn snug, and always position the lap belt as low as possible around the hips, not the waist, and place the shoulder belt over your shoulder and across your chest.

Front passenger air bag: The front passenger air bag is designed to automatically turn OFF when the vehicle is operated under some conditions as de- scribed below as permitted by U.S. regula- tions. If the front passenger air bag is OFF , it will not inflate in a crash.

SIC4277 Speedometer SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER Speedometer The speedometer indicates vehicle speed in miles per hour (MPH) and kilometers per hour (km/h).
2-8 Instruments and contr ols SIC3828 T ACHOMETER The tachometer indicates engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). Do not rev the engine into the red zone * 1 . The red zone varies with each models. CAUTION When engine speed approaches the red zone, shift to a higher gear or reduce engine speed.
SIC3256 FUEL GAUGE The gauge indicates the approximate fuel level in the tank. The gauge may move slightly during braking, turning, acceleration, or going up or down hills. The gauge needle returns to E (Empty) after the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.
2-10 Instruments and controls SIC3181 When the ignition switch is pushed to the ON position, the compass display * B will indicate the direction of the vehicle ’ s heading. If the display reads “ C ” , calibrate the compass by driving the vehicle in 3 complete circles at less than 5 MPH (8 km/h).
SIC0611B Zone map ZONE VARIA TION CHANGE PROCE- DURE The difference between magnetic north and geographical north is known as variance. In some areas, this difference can some- times be great enough to cause false compass readings. Follow these instruc- tions to set the varianc e for your particular location if this happens: 1.

2-18 Instruments and controls CAUTION . The TPMS is not a substitute for the regular tire pressure chec k. Be sure to chec k the tire pressure regularly . . If the vehicle is being driven at speeds of less than 16 MPH (25 km/h), the TPMS may not operate co rrectly.

2-20 Instruments and contr ols further details. Exterior light indicator This indicator illuminates when the head- light switch is turned to the AUTO, or position and the front parking lights, instrument panel lights, tail lights, lice nse plate lights or headlights are on.
After a few driving trips, the light should turn off if no other potential emission control system malfunction ex- ists. If this indicator light remains on for 20 seconds and then blinks for 10 seconds when the engine is not running, it indicates that the vehicle is not ready for an emission cont rol system inspection/main- tenance test.

INDICA TORS FOR OPERA TION 1. Engine start operation indicator This indicator appears when the shift lever is in the P (Park) position. This indicator means that the engine will start by pushing the ignition switch with the brake pedal depressed.

Refuel as soon as it is convenient, preferably before the fuel gauge reaches the empty (E) position. There is a small reserve of fuel remaining in the tank when the fuel gauge reaches the empty (E) position.
