SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES Part No. 1110546 7 Tracer® EX2 When  cleaning  rear  cane  or  hand  grip  areas  use  only  a  clean  towel  lightly  dampened  with  cool  wat e r.  Ve r i f y  that  grips  are  dry  prior  to  use.
SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES Tracer® EX 2 8 Part No. 111 0546 Weight Training/Weight Limitation Inv acare  does  not  recommend  the  use  of  its  wheelchairs  as  a  we i g h t  training  apparatus.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Part No. 1110546 9 Tracer® EX2 SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Safety/Handling of Wheelchairs Safety  and  handling  of  the  wheelchair  require  the  close  attention  of  the  wheelchair  user  as  we l l  as  the  assistant.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Tracer® EX 2 10 Part No. 111 0546  WARNING DO NOT attempt to reach objects if you have to move forward in the seat or pick them up from the floor by reaching do wn between your knees.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Part No. 1110546 11 Tracer® EX2 When  tipping  the  wheelchair ,  an  assistant  should  grasp  the  back  of  the  wheelchair  on  a  non ‐ remov able  (non ‐ detachable)  part.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Tracer® EX 2 12 Part No. 111 0546 Roll  the  wheelchair  backward  and  slowly  low er  the  wheelchair  in  one  continuous  movement.  Tu r n  the  anti ‐ tippers  so  the  anti ‐ tip  wheels  are  facing  down.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Part No. 1110546 13 Tracer® EX2 Transferring To a nd From Other Seats  WARNING Before attempting to tr ansfer in or out of the wheelchair, every precauti on should be taken to reduce the gap distance. Turn both casters parallel to the object you are transferring onto.

SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Part No. 1110546 15 Tracer® EX2 SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE:  Every  six  months  or  as  necessary ,  take  your  wh eelchair  to  a  qualifi ed  technician  for  a  thorough  inspection  and  servicin g.
SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Tracer® EX 2 16 Part No. 111 0546 Inspect/Adjust Weekly ❑ Ensure  that  the  wheel  locks  prev ent  the  wheelchair  from  moving  when  engaged. ❑ Inspect  tires  for  flat  spots  and  w ear .
SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Part No. 1110546 17 Tracer® EX2 CAUTION DO NOT overtighten hardware attaching to the fram e. This could cause damage to the frame tubing. Suggested Maintenance Procedures 1. Before  using  your  wheelchair ,  make  sure  all  nuts  and  bolts  are  tight.
SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Tracer® EX 2 18 Part No. 111 0546 Troubleshooting Chair Veers Right/Left Chair 3 Wheels Sluggish Turn or Performance Casters Flutter Squeaks and Rattles Looseness in Chair Solutions XX X X Check tires for correct and equal pressure XX X X Check for loose nuts and bolts.

Otherwise injury or damage may occur. If the wheelchair is equipped wi th permanent axles, this proc edure MUST be performed by a qualified technician.

SECTION 9—ANTI-TIPPERS/WHEEL LOCKS Part No. 1110546 35 Tracer® EX2 2. Ensure  that  the  release  button  of  the  anti ‐ tipper  fully  protrudes  out  of  the  hole  in  the  bottom  of  the  wheelchair  frame  tubing.

SECTION 11—OPTIONS Part No. 1110546 39 Tracer® EX2 Installing Crutch and Cane Carrier  WARNING Check base weekly to en sure proper placement. When loading the crutch/cane ca rrier, ensure items ar e securely placed into the base. Also ensure that there is no interf erence with folding the wheelc hair, the rear wheels, or the swing-back arms.
