Operat ing - 6 OPERATING Operating Using Cultivator The most commo n uses fo r a cultiv ator : 1. W eed control in emerging garden s: • Straddle row cultiv ation: By straddling the cultivator ov er the plant row , weeds on each side of the row of plants can be dislodged.
Operat ing - 7 OPERATING NO TE: T wo e xtra sets of spring tine mount ing hard ware are included with the cultivator . This hardware is needed when the spring t ines at position (A) are mo ved to another set of open mountin g holes in the frame. MX13266 3.

Service - 9 SERVIC E Service Replacing Spring Tines 1. P ark the mac hine saf ely . (See P ar king Safely in Saf ety section.) 2. Remov e the cultiv ator from the mach ine. 3. T ur n the cultiv ator upside-down. MX13258 4. Remove the nut (A), lockwasher (B), 1/2 x 1-3/ 4 x 3/8 in.
Stor age - 10 STORAGE Storage Storing Cultiva tor Safely 1. Remove cultivator from the machine. 2. Thoroughly clean th e cultiva tor with soap y water and brush, or use high-pr essure washer . 3. Chec k the cultiv ator f or wor n or damaged parts. Replace par ts as needed.
Assembly - 11 ASSEMBL Y Assembly Identify Parts MX13245a Assemble Frame MX13270 1. Assemble lo wer link pins (A) to A-frame halves (B) using supplied hard ware. NO TE: T o allow f or alignment and installation of components, do no t tighten har dware completely until instructed to do so.
