G-1 Warnings, Cautions and Others Caution–– (standby/on) button! Disconnect the mains plug to shut the pow er off completely (the ST ANDBY lamp goes off). When installing the apparatus, ensure that the plug is easily accessible. The (standby/ on) button in any position does not disco nnect the mains line.
G-2 Caution: Proper Ventilation To avoid risk of electric shock and fire, and to prevent damage, locate the apparatus as follows: 1. Front: No obstruction s and open spacin g. 2. Sides/ To p/ Back: No obstructio ns should be plac ed in the areas shown by the dim ensions below.
1 Introduction Precautions Insta lla tion • Install the System in a location with adequ ate ven tilation to prevent in ternal heat bui ldup in the S ystem. • Install in a place wh ich is leve l, dry an d neither too hot n or too cold —between 5°C an d 35°C.

3 Connections • Connect VID EO OUT directly to the video input of your TV. Connec ting VIDE O OU T to a TV via a VC R ma y cause a monitor problem w hen playing ba ck a copy-protec ted disc. You ma y also have a mo nitor problem when connectin g the player to an i ntegrated TV/Vi deo syste m.
4 ~ AM/FM ant enna To ass emble the AM lo op an tenna To connect AM/FM antenn a For better FM recepti on • Disconnect the supp lied FM antenna , and conne ct to an outdoor FM an tenna using a 75 Ω wire wi th coaxial t ype connector (IEC or D IN4532 5).
5 Auxiliary equipment @ Speakers • When con necting the spe aker cords, ma tch the polarity of the spea ker te rm ina ls: ( +) to (+ ) a nd (– ) to (– ). • Use only sp eakers wi th the same spea ker impeda nce as indicated by the spea ker terminals on the rear of the unit .
6 ¤ Voltage Selector Use a screwdriver to rotate t he voltage selector so that the volta ge mark is pointin g to the sa me volta ge as where yo u are pluggi ng in the unit.
7 Display Indication The indic ations o n the di splay tell you a lot of th ings whi le you are op erating th e System. Before ope rating th e System, be famil iar with when and h ow the ind icator illu minates o n the di splay. 1 DVD LEV. 1/2/3 indicators • Lights to indica te the DVD i ncrease level (see pag e 12 ) .
